joey45 Posted October 27, 2022 Posted October 27, 2022 It's modelled and animated it just needs the code... 1 The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. norman99 Posted November 2, 2022 Posted November 2, 2022 Extending and retracting has been animated, but I can’t even fathom the work required to animate the actual crash/recovery sequence. Exactly how you’d create a smooth, natural looking animation, with an infinite amount of different aircraft flight/approach path possibilities is beyond me. I have no doubt this is a significantly more challenging feature to implement than most people realise. 1

It's not that complex. You render all cables separately with collision, extension and braking (similar to trapping) and that's it. After the (unrealistic) 3 minutes of repair you're probably good to go. Granted, don't expect it to look very real, just believable. 2 Win10 i7-10700KF 32GB RTX4070S Quest 3 T16000M VPC CDT-VMAX TFRP FC3 F-14A/B F-15E CA SC NTTR PG Syria
