arvu Posted October 29, 2022 Posted October 29, 2022 My DCS installation does not update to new 2.8 version.I have tried manual update from command line, but it just says that it's up to date running version 2.7.18.30765. I'm using openbeta version. How can I get DCS updated to the latest version? autoupdate_log.txt

I tried repair earlier. It seems that when i run dcs_updater.exe from command line it does not write anything to the log.
Solution arvu Posted October 29, 2022 Author Solution Posted October 29, 2022 I ran command: .\DCS_updater.exe update '@openbeta' It seems to be doing something. Now downloading 59GBytes... 2
GregP Posted November 1, 2022 Posted November 1, 2022 So did this fix it for you? I'm still getting the same "2.7.18...' is up to date" message no matter what I try.

In order to use the OB update channel once and for all, follow these instructions: Edited November 1, 2022 by Flappie 2 ---
GregP Posted November 2, 2022 Posted November 2, 2022 Thanks - yes, turned out I was on stable without having even realized it; I'd uninstalled DCS a few months ago and when I recently re-installed it, must've forgotten to do the Open Beta version. Still though, the '@openbeta' option refused to work for me, but worked when I specifically used '2.8.0.32066@openbeta'.

I use it very often to switch between OB and release versions, to check whether a bug is a regression or not. Anyway, I'm glad I could help. ---
ctguy1955 Posted November 22, 2022 Posted November 22, 2022 Because of the new lighting and other new features, I was not able to update from 32235 to 33006 and I figured it was because all of the planes, ships, tanks and Maps needed all new features. I ended up installing the new version and now am spending 3 days just downloading maps and jets and planes and I could not just copy and paste older 32235 mods and have them still work.
