silent one Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 On the camera, Shkval, I seem to see wiper blades . is there a switch to make these work? I see a windscreen wiper switch but it doesnt effect the Shkval. Any clarification helpful. 1
diveplane Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 the switch is to the right of you in cockpit. https://www.youtube.com/user/diveplane11 DCS Audio Modding.
Boberro Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 Please read manual. Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D ಠ_ಠ ツ
ronht Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 Actually, in the Russian download version flying in snow would black out the shkval and require you to operate the shkval wiper every once in a while to get a view back. That does not appear to be working in the English download version. At least that's what I've seen so far. ron

silent one Posted January 11, 2009 Author Posted January 11, 2009 (edited) thanks for the help guys, the ones who actually tried to help.to the others, apparently I have to scan a manual constantly for one obscure reference which isnt in the manuals index. If I could have found it in the manual I wouldnt have posted here. Duh. Thanks for that advice ., Never thought of reading the manual. And I cant ask for help in more than one place. That would be awful. hope someone can be as helpful for you in the future. Airway Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 Get real. Don't cause more work than needed. 1
Boberro Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 It is wrote in manual: Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D ಠ_ಠ ツ
silent one Posted January 11, 2009 Author Posted January 11, 2009 Thanks Boberro. Ive read the manual several times. I didnt say it wasnt in the manual I said it wasnt in the manuals index. As you know its a big manual and thats a very small note. I think I can be excused for overlooking it. I appreciate you showing me where to look :)

Didn't you post this same thing at SimHQ. Smells like trolling to me. If I wanted to post on 2 sites I'm going to. If you don't like it, don't respond. Simple. Now move on. 1
Boberro Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 Thanks Boberro. Ive read the manual several times. I didnt say it wasnt in the manual I said it wasnt in the manuals index. As you know its a big manual and thats a very small note. I think I can be excused for overlooking it. I appreciate you showing me where to look :) I understand, sometimes I am rude - so sorry about this - but on forum there are so many questions which can be easily solved by reading part of manual or secion keys, and people when have problem first are writing new thread than read docs included with game :P Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D ಠ_ಠ ツ
bogusheadbox Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 and people when have problem first are writing new thread than read docs included with game :P Most likely becuase as seasoned gamers.... We realise that a lot of items are not described accurately or at all in some games. Its a valid question and asking here is sometimes quicker than scouring a manual - the poster said they have already missed it once It may be a way for a poster to get an answer to a question as well as introduce themselves to the communities. Give him a break guys and be civil. 1
xxvintersorgxx Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 Another point is that the manual provides a lot of answers but also is vague or lost in translation. Having the "English Cockpit" on and having the manual describe everything by its Russian translation has already confused me to the point i get lost for 20 minutes trying to figure out what buttons to press. Sometimes it's just easier to ask.. I still am unsure I'm using the data link correctly heh
sobek Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 The manual is a pdf, pdfs feature search for keywords, no need to ponder through the manual yourself. If a bunch of keywords don't give you the wanted results, search the forum, then post if nothing turned up. No member with common sense will flame you if you say you couldn' find something about your problem in the manual and the forum. 1 Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! d0ppler Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 I still am unsure I'm using the data link correctly heh There are some very good tutorials for the data link in the training section in-game. A-10C, AV-8B, Ka-50, F-14B, F-16C, F-5E, F/A-18C, L-39, Mi-8, MiG-21, MiG-29, SA34, Spitfire, Su-27, Su-33, UH-1H
xxvintersorgxx Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 I've watched them, but the manual has multiple ways to designate targets. The way it is it seems you have to cage the shkval up to send the data.. seems a bit tedious.. anyways i don't mean to hijack the thread. I was just stating the manual is not always clear, and not always the easiest place to look for information

This attitude serves in driving away senior forum members with lots of knowledge, because they get annoyed of all the redundant questions being asked, often easily avoidable by using the manual or forum search feature (yes, even you can search a pdf for a few keywords ;)), it's not asking too much for everybody to use the search feature, if you cannot find what you look for, (almost) everybody will be glad to help. Btw. i know some die hard sim fora where the old-timers do not hesitate to flame newbies for not RTFM, be glad that this forum is not one of them. Edited January 12, 2009 by sobek Good, fast, cheap. So I kindly ask you to overthink your rant. Sorry, but after all these years i've seen enough bashing on people asking for help. Even if we can find our ways to solutions doesn't mean everyone else does it. People don't ask for help just for the fun you know :) Again, sorry if i was mistaken. 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] I7 3930K. 16Gb Corsair Vengeance 1866mhz. Asus P9X79 Deluxe. Asus GTX680 2Gb. There is no need for such behavior like this. If you are mature memebers of this forum then bahave like one.

Well Bogus, just in case you didn't get it and to all the others who didn't get it and replied also in their short tempered mood: Why is everybody upset? What have I said? Well here's a short review: Another crosspost. I hate it. ... Especially when the question was already answered. What does it mean? It means that I personally don't like it when people ask questions on wich to answer you spend time, although the answer could easily be found by the asker himself, and then the same question is asked again by the the same person. That's it, not more not less. I didn't rant, I didn't ask for resolutions, I didn't insult anyone personally. I didn't even disallow someone to do that or said that it was wrong. I just said thatI hate it. If some of you disagreed, you could have simply read on. The reactions by some of the users here were short tempered and short viewing. What's the result? Nothing. It was just an impression of my personal opinion and also a hint directed to the one who asked, that he might choose the regular way to answer his question by searching the forums or the manual instead of asking the question in several forums. It also was an information for other users that on the answer to this thread was alsready worked in several forums on the internet. What does it mean for you? Nothing. I was just a random reply and could have hit any other user too who did that. In the last time I remember a lot of threads that answered a question and a similar thread was opened by someone else shortly after the previous was just finished So my post was just a reminder, so to say. Not that we get another 15 threads asking how to setup the controller axis or endless threads about why rotor blades break. Keep the forums slim and keep your creativity for mission and campagne editing or modmaking. You see, some of you inculpated me falsely. And that was my last statement about it from me at all. Get back to topic. Thank you for your attention.
