I was wondering two thing that i need to know.

1] Is DCS will keep the name "Black-Shark" When other modules will be released?

2] Is DCS will think of a dual seat possibility like in "Lockon LAN instructor" before? but Online as well .. ?

This would influence a project..

Thank you EvilBivol if you can ask the team or answer those questions..

Not speaking for ED...

1) I would expect it to be more like "DCS:A-10"

2) In DCS:AH-64A, it is supposed to have dual seat capability. Whether you use it for instruction or not, would be up to you.

LP

modules:

F5-E / A4-E / A-10A / AJS-37 / SA-342 / UH-1H / Ka-50 / Mi-8 / CA

would buy:

OH-58 /AH-64A / AH-1 / Sepecat Jaguar / F-111

No, the titles will change with each release. For the A-10, the working title (subject to change) is "DCS: A-10C Warthog".

Not aware of any such plans at this time, except for possible modeling of dual-seat aircraft in the future.

P.S. The company name is Eagle Dynamics (ED) and The Fighter Collection (TFC). :)

Wait, now I'm confused. I was under the impression that Digital Combat Simulator is going to be a collection of flight "modules," and that these will build upon each other to create a more expansive simulator. In other words, as the various aircraft are released, they are added to the overall package and users can fly whichever plane or heli they want in a multiplayer game, the same as in LOMAC.

Is this true?

Humm.. interesting almost like it would be a separate release each time..

Wouldn't be easier to find one name something Generic..

Thank you for the answers.

Digital Combat Simulator (DCS) is the "generic" name. We then add the aircraft name for every new module.

So, the first module is "DCS: Black Shark". The second module will be "DCS: A-10C Warthog". The third will be "DCS: Just Kidding!" :D

Each module is indeed a new release. However, the plan is to have each module (release) be made backwards compatible with the previous one, so that you could upgrade your "DCS" to the standards of the latest module without having to actually buy the latest module, unless you want to fly that aircraft.

Yes basically it's they get the same style as Rise of Flight of Gennadich ( Oleg SOW engine ) But naming other modules with the name of the new plane wouldn't be underminding the previous aircrafts ?

Maybe DCS 1.0 maybe simpler

So if we understand well the models are already in the Sim for example the pilot with a "Black-Shark" release will be able to fight against an A10 Online but wont be able to jump into the cockpit ( unless buying teh new A10 release ) but he will see the Ai's or plane model .. right ?

Oh, I wasn't aware of that part. Sounds fantastic.

From where do you have the information that neoqb is using the SOW engine? Or is it just your guess?

 I don't think I understand this... OK, so I start with BS. Then along comes A-10, and, for the purpose of this discussion, I choose not to buy it. But you seem to suggest I can still upgrade BS with the fancy new bells and whistles of the A-10-release... without the added flyable, I suppose? How does this work, exactly?

You pay for the aircraft, upgrades to the sim engine are free (sort of).

seems nobdoy here is quite ceratin about the upcoming modules system for DCS. Could anybody from ED help us with this uncertainty?

Let's say: I buy the DCS: BS. Then, when the A10 warhog is ready I get it too. The A-10 will come with a better GFX engine and some other improvements. Will I be able to fly my Black Shark in the A-10 module. I mean flying with the same scenarios and the same GFX technology from A-10 warhog module?

My rig specs:

Intel Core i7 4770 @3.4Ghz // Corsair 16GB DDR3 // MoBo Asus Z87K // HDD 1TB 7200RPM // eVGA Nvidia GTX 760GT 2GB DDR5 // LG 3D 47" 1920x1080 // Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS // Saitek Combat Pro Pedals // Thrustmaster MFD Cougar pack // PS3 Eye + FTNOIR

will there be a discount for owners of black-shark when buying warthog?

What's the status: months or years till it's finished?

Unless I am understanding this completely wrongly it seems quite simple.

It might be easy to think of it like this:

You have the core game without any flyable aircraft, this is called DCS. To the DCS you add your first flyable aircraft the BS. Now you get a new patch and at this moment the BS part and the DCS are one thing, so the patch fixes any and both.

Then the A:10 comes out along with some engine improvements etc. You then get two (or one if they disable the flyability depending on your licensing) install files and you install them. One is for the DCS (to install any generic changes that would be needed for both) and the other is the flying part of the A:10.

At some point down the line we get a new engine, and chances are we are going to be required to re-download new versions of everything. I would imagine the new (and even this one might be like this) would work by you having a DCS launcher and then within the DCS you choose your aircraft and along with that the missions etc.

This is just a way of thinking about it, the game core can remain as one seperate entity while the flyable aircraft remain as another and you update whatever you want whenever you want without (theorectically) affecting the other.

Anyway that's my take.

There may well be, but do you honestly want one? I mean this is a magnificant achievement and if the next module is just as good I don't mind spending another $40. I have had more fun out of this so far than I have on some of my £40 xbox games!
