skywalker22 Posted January 1, 2023 Posted January 1, 2023 (edited) I would love to see since this game is considered as a SIM, to have at least on option for multiplayer that no one is able to press ESC key and exit/leave server BEFORE standing still (on runway or where ever), or being shot down and plane being destroyed on the ground. Why? Mainly because lots of ppl leave when they are hit by missile, or they just got tired and they disappear from your radar. Edited January 1, 2023 by skywalker22

Sounds like a horrible restriction any time you're flying a realistic mission, which could span hours and hundreds of miles. Let people Esc whenever, just make it such that if they do it while airborne, the plane doesn't despawn, so it can still be shotdown. Or count leaving the slot as a loss. SharpeXB Posted January 2, 2023 Posted January 2, 2023 (edited) I think a good mission design gives players an incentive to land. Otherwise players would simply air-quit as soon as they’ve attacked a target or to escape dogfights as soon as the situation turns against them. Some CFS have a 15 second delay for quitting. Others only give you a score if you land. Scores don’t mean much but if those are coupled with points, war bonds or lives on the server that’s incentive enough. d0ppler Posted January 2, 2023 Posted January 2, 2023 Or play single player campaigns where you actually need to taxi back to the correct parking spot in order to get the mission complete and proceed to the next.. You won't get immersion on most of the public servers. They are more instant action. It's fun, but not realistic, if that's what you're looking for. A better way to make them behave in a desired way is to publish your rules in the MOTD, and ban offenders after a friendly chat with them does not give the desired results. Another good way is to provide incentives for players to conform to the desired behavior: reward good conformance by only awarding kills after returning to parking etc. Rewards usually work better long-term, as they reinforce good conduct across your entire server population.

Since you mentioned a simulator two things come to mind: 1. Simulation starts and ends whenever and wherever you want. 2. It is absolutely realistic to exit any aircraft at any moment even if it's very risky.
