As @silverdevil mentioned, I think this is an explorer settings thing as well. I've never experienced this before and it hasn't been reported as an issue until now. The leading period is simply there to make the 'Basic' missions both easy to find and appear at the top of the mission selection, since this mission pack has at it's core, always been for newer players just finding their sea legs with the Viper. I'm sorry for any inconvenience it caused, and I hope you continue to enjoy the missions!

I can see the missions fine in Windows Explorer, but they didn't show up in DCS until I removed the periods. (I just checked and I can see them with the leading period in DCS  now - not sure why I couldn't see them before.)

To any and all that follow this thread, thank you for your support as we approach 2 years of this mission pack being posted in in its original form. It is where it is because of you.

I know DCS has a very international player base, but to those who recognize and celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday, I hope it is a day that creates loving memories that last for years to come.

Stay frosty and watch your states, Vipers. This pack isn't dead. More to come in 2025.

Hey man, first of all I just want to say thank you for these missions.

I had a look at the description for the Airshow Demo; and it states to "Check the ReadMe file that you downloaded with this pack it has a link to the Viper Demo Team livery to download". However; within both zips from forums & user files, there doesn't seem to be a README file within the folders or anywhere after extraction.

It's not a big deal for me; however I just thought I'd give you a heads up incase it comes up.

Brilliant work; I haven't been flying long but these missions are a great help especially now that I have my new stick, I've been getting closer and closer each time I load in - thus showing much improvement. More so than d0ppler's training missions.

A suggestion - similarly to d0ppler in regards to the formation trainers (although the beauty of these missions is that they're focused on one craft). You could probably run multiple aircraft and depending on the aircraft you choose, it spawns your lead aircraft as the same one you chose. Not sure how difficult it would be to do although a simple where / if else check within the lua scripts (keeping the waypoints / steerpoints the same) would be sufficient i would think. I'm not good with lua scripting (due to not delving into it too much). So you could check the players current selection in the list and if it matches then basically spawn the same aircraft.

I'll get this fixed; thank you! Hadn't realized.

As for the formation training, doing what you suggested is rather simple and wouldn't require any scripting at all, just some very simple triggers on mission start, but this mission pack will always be Viper-specific, just like I did for the F15E mission pack I was developing before RazGate put an end to that. But if I branch out into multi-aircraft training packs (not a bad idea), something like this will certainly be implemented.

Thank you for the kind words, as well, I'm glad you're enjoying the missions! 🫡

I appreciate the quick response :).

I absolutely agree with keeping this particular pack Viper Specific; the F15E pack is equally as good. I think I was more leaning towards FC24 owners & possibly consolodating the Full Fidelity modules (Likes of F14, FA-18, AV8B [handy to have in ones repetoire regardless of the ongoing RB/ED disputes]). I think your missions would be very beneficial to those users as simple as they are they help you get the job done, no fuss and without frustration.

I have slightly modified my personal copy just to change the liveries; but the core remains the same. Without your missions; these gorgeous shots wouldn't be possible.

Stealth Update: A readme file has been added with a link to a Viper Demo Team livery for the 'Airshow Demonstration' mission. Not enough of a change to warrant a version update.

Hello everyone!

This is a small update, but I wanted to update the version to at least let everyone know that this mission pack has not been abandoned. As always, IRL has a way of getting in the way of DCS, but all missions are continually tested regularly to ensure functionality through updates.

Thank you all again for the support. These missions have and always will be what they are because of all of you.

Until next time, fly high, fly fast, and watch your states. 🫡

Yeah, thanks for all this! I've started DCS with the F-16 since it was a Cold War participant, and now that a map for that period is available I really want to hone my skills. Combing through the two available manuals and even watching videos can be tedious--I just want scenarios for getting a handle on my HOTAS configuration, radar modes and how to shoot LR and SR missiles without getting my own butt blown out of the sky. I'll move on to better fuel management, air to air refueling and ground and pound later...
