The Hornet defaults to Tacan volume off, would ne nice if the Viper did too.  And the ILS down/almost off.  And with all the new RWR tones, omg.  Default the volume to be a little lower, PLEASE.  Busy maps make it go nuts.

TIA

Yep should turn down everything like RWR, and ILS/TACAN

what about the other sound effects?

And why can't we just not have everything set to scream at you be default?

What other sound effects are you thinking about? I have no issue with any of the sound effects, so if everything is "screaming" at you i suggest you turn down your volume overall.

Some things need to be heard, though.  Like lock tones.  And it's nice to hear wind and jet noise.  I'm just asking for things not to be extra by default, which is already the case in other ED modules.

Yea it is my startup routine to turn down RWR and WPN volume.  Then some voices in training are way too low.  I raise it for training, forget to lower it back down, and then my ear drums get blasted by my wingman when flying another mission.  Wish sound level of all audio are normalized.  Sound editing softwares lets you do this all together in batch process.

And not directly related but would like to mention this as it's also about having standards between modules.  Key binding names needs to be universal.  Radar/RDR, Speed Brake/SPD BRK, Open/Extend/Aft, Closed/Retract/Forward, HDG/Heading...  I know it's due to different developers working on different modules but wish there was some guidelines developers need to follow for consistency.

Helmet volume sometimes affects radio volume. This depends on module. Most of the ED modules seem to have it set where helmet volume controls audio played through the helmet speakers except radio/ICS, while 3rd party modules appear to have it set where helmet volume controls everything, including radio/ICS.

The one irritating thing with the Viper in particular is that ILS doesn't work unless the volume knob is on. I assume it's also that way in the real jet, but when literally no other aircraft in the sim has ILS that functions like that it makes me question why it was designed so.
