I loaded up a mission that I struggle to get 30fps on, and I was hovering in the 90s with runs to 120 (the max refresh for my monitor and the FPS limit I set).  It's running everything significantly faster.

I have an 8-core/16-thread CPU, and I used to never see more than about 15% CPU utilization MAX during DCS (given that most cores were idle), but now it's using 70% of my CPU, which means I'm maxing out numerous cores.  My 2080Ti finally sees 100% utilization too.

While it helps VR to some extent (I had one VR session glitch down to like 11FPS, but most held 40-80), from my testing, my monitor (5120 x 1440) sees a much larger benefit.

I gotta be honest, ED didn't seemed super-optimistic that MT was going to be a huge deal, so my expectations were fairly low.  I figured they'd throw some damage-model tasks to a couple of other threads, and call it a day.   I figured it would help a little, but not be overwhelming (kind of like when iRacing threaded their damage models).

After a couple hours of use, however, this seems like a game-changer to me.

Really nice job, from what I've seen so far, it finally makes those multi-core gaming CPUs worth the money, and it lets the graphics cards use all of their resources.

I don't have fps counter but things load a lot faster, some artifacts in vr but nothing major. Had some crashes when exiting to desktop. But looks promising.

I need further testing, but on friday i flew a AH64D with my friend in a small mission (Apache always gave me very bad FPS regardless of mission size), and the FPS was very good, like ~90-100 the whole time. Feels very promising, but i need to fly a bit more in bigger MP servers to convince myself.

Try RCtrl+Pause. Counter should appear in upper left of screen.

It even made my 1,500 unit Omaha Beach scenario marginally playable by doubling the framerate!  This is my entire "master" D-Day mission which I always reduce from before actually playing.

Same Game-Master view from the beach for roughly the first 5 minutes of the mission.

Single-Threaded:

11-03-2023, 16:01:32 DCS.exe benchmark completed, 4874 frames rendered in 294.985 s
                     Average framerate  :   16.5 FPS
                     Minimum framerate  :   11.8 FPS
                     Maximum framerate  :   51.0 FPS
                     1% low framerate   :    5.2 FPS
                     0.1% low framerate :    2.4 FPS

Multi-Threaded:

11-03-2023, 16:10:30 DCS.exe benchmark completed, 9213 frames rendered in 272.282 s
                     Average framerate  :   33.8 FPS
                     Minimum framerate  :   25.5 FPS
                     Maximum framerate  :   45.9 FPS
                     1% low framerate   :    7.9 FPS
                     0.1% low framerate :    5.8 FPS

Not bad for 300+ Higgins Boats, every WN Strongpoints, Troop Ships, LSTs, Allied Bombing Campaigns, Artillery Batteries, etc.

10700K 3080ti Reverb G1 here.

Went from 39 to 50fps in the SuperCarrier cold&dark mission, 37 to 53 in the FA18 Instant action Battlefield.
Having in mind that this is only the first iteration of MT, future is going to be great !

I just miss SteamVR, for its reprojection which is way, way better than OpenXR's one ( stutter and ghosting ruining the experience ). Hope the hotfix will be available soon.

10700K / 4090 / 32Go / 34" curved Gigabyte / Reverb G1 / Thrustmaster hardware among other harderware things.

I find your lack of FPS disturbing...

Yes, looks like it, especially for those of us with less than stellar machines.

I must say this is the best improvement yet!! I run the F-18 module and the Super Carrier, and all my stuttering has gone away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Job guys!! Keep up the good work!! I use the Track IR and lock at 60 FPS and it stays at 60 FPS absolutely not one stutter!! All other settings maxed out!!

I would always have minor stuttering. And I have tried all the fixes but always had that minor stuttering. But not anymore! Not one stutter. I use a RTX 2080 super graphics card.

Have just purchased The Persian gulf (on sale)

Prior to the latest MT update, I had no intention of purchasing this map.

But if DCS are going to potentially save me £600 in a GPU upgrade through some seriously diligent programming then I'd like to support that.

When the ground AI improvements come out (which I hope can be manifested more fully due to the extra bandwidth we now have to play with) I'll buy up any other modules I've not got.

Thanks DCS

I am so amazed! my head keeps nodding up and down like a bobble head, i never could put up my settings past medium and the temps were ridicules now after almost two years with my new system and DCS 2.8.3 i turned my settings  on high an ultra and i cant believe it! temps are low and it runs as smooth as butter not sure about FPS i am sure its high and amazing performance ,not only that, i guess ED fixed the AH-64D i  because i could not fly it a month ago so i went back to the KA-50  now without issue or crashing the ah-64 fly's like a dream what can i say amazing !! and i figured a good test is flying ground OPs where the the graphics are pushed to the limit.

i could not get the FPS meter to function on msi after burner and i had to roll back my nvidia driver to 528.49 i was having blank screen issues on my Steam game interface .  There is always something but it wasn't the sim this time its hat off to the ED team great job !!!!
