What with Simmoders support ?

Good job Borchi

Simmoders died out when the website died, and when that died so did most of the testing and inputs :(

I know that SuperKungFu still helps out 3d modellers behind the scenes, but the rest is long dead.

I'm sorry to hear that!

Anyway, thanks for the screenshot Borchi, it doesn't reveal too much but I really like the way lights look!

i do not know

have not talked to him for quiet a while.

sure a new home for simmod would be great, i just do not know if all the guys would come back.

yeniceri is out, thats for sure, but we need a good source for the community modders, so they can talk and work on projects. i am not sure about matt wagner if he would join again the simmoders team. alot has changed over the past few month.

well golfsierra, you should maybe ask the community if they want simmod back alive and if the old team would come back to some certain extend.

a site cost money and time, so you might want to check on that first.

i myself would love to see simmod back alife!

was a great ittle community, with lots of knowledge and freindship i think.

hey guys,

i need some informations on the LOD models.

can anybody tell me at which distances the certain LOD stages take place?

The lod models are saved as separate lom files, so lod1 as F-15_lod1.lom and so on. The distances of when the lod's should appear is given in the f-15.skins file. This means you can decide the distances yourself, aswell as how many lod models you want. You can look at the su-25t.skins file for refrance of how to make this.

Hope this helps:thumbup:

yes indeed it does help alot.

i take a loock at it in the next few days.

one thing i need to know.

when i make lights with a tga file that blends out into black, and i make the alpha channel, i have the problem that the outer area of a light tga file blends into some black glow before it fanishes into 0 opacity.

does that have to do with the engine of lomac?

i saw that the lights used in lomac, are more set into a white color area. will this provide a clean blur into 0 opacity?

edit to golfsierra:

please all, be patient, but it might be possible that we get simmod back to life.

the only thing it is dependen on, if i will have good replies from certain people who were allways part of the team.

stand by for that.

the team is still there in the world, we just need a new host, and some good support from the community.

For the lights, I think its best to have them blend into the colour of the light, so a green light would be bright (almost white) in the center, and a green colour at the edges. Then you would get a green transparrent tone instead of the black at the edges of the light. I have never tried to make lights myself though, so maybe there is a different way too. Also, you can look at the BANO.tga texture for refrance.

Let there be none of this again, please. One should be thankful its even being worked on, much less it being released to the public.

Walmis's model ....... it`s so bad for me , sorry ......

The nose is so big , the nose wheel is big too , the back of the fuselage ( Air break ) isn`t the curve , it`s beeline ! These makes the eagle looks like humpback eagle

Especially sparrow bay ! It`s a joke ! So many other thing like these wrong thing

So ,the Profile of the Walmis's model isn`t accurately so much

But the BoomBoom`s mod isn`t , I wait for it so long time ......

At last , sorry for my baby English , LOL !

Hi,

think your English should be okay.

Yes, borchis model looks great and I hope he can force his efforts to bring it over the finish line. Allthough I think that he used to many polygones for the model but well- It will work and borchis F-15 will look great.

Best wishes,

TOM

Any news from Borchi 'bout F-15C?! Estimated release date, number of included skins...let's kick out those default skins that represent ceased fighter wings and introduce new age (modern) ones from the late '90s and 21st century...

I'd really like to fly it as the screenshots he posted look promising, I hope it's MEInit would be compatible with 3GO Flanker 1.5!

Well,

He works allone. Think he need some support about the wraping and textures. Its pretty hard to motivate yourself a lot every day and day and day. So

can you put some screens here to show us the shape?

i really want to see if you have any shape mistakes because its better to correct them now, before you release the mod.

i have to tell you guys that if you decide to make a mod , please do it right. i saw some mods with some serious shape mistakes and i prefere to dont play them ...

i dont want to be rude, but those bad mods are: walmis f-15, EF typhoon, that mig29 and the f-22 raptor. i dont think that anyone would compare them with the gripen mod or the mig-21...

Posted

@John_X. Umm... I don't want to be rude, but why don't you show us your 3d models you made with highly accurate 3D shape. If you can do this then I will respect what you are saying as a skilled 3d modeler.

However, until you present us (The community) with such evidence, I must respond to what you say with some distaste and disgust.

As many have put it before me, community modders do this in their free time as a hobby. You may want to consider, Just for a sec, that they don't have to do what they do, and, they make these mods for YOU!

The walmis F-15 was the first real model made by a community modder! You could almost say Walmis was a pioneer in this area (Not my words, but I don't remember who said this) and he started a trend of 3d modeling.

"That Mig-29" you mention is Tomcatz's. You may recall that he has done countless mods (Including that lockon4ever mod I'm eagerly waiting to be completed in all seasons). I don't know which euro-fighter you mention, but, again, it represents many hours of work. As does the F-22 model.

Please phrase your criticism in a more constructive manner. No one is forcing you to use the mods, but that doesn't mean you should just publicly declare hard work crap. Of course, If you can do better, feel free to show us your work. ;)

1) i will soon release a mod and you will see THE DIFFERENCE.until then search for the iar-93/soko j-22 orao and see the clear shape...

2) i can tell you have nothing in common with the aviation if you dont see how many shape mistakes have all those modes. and its not that they dont know the technique of modelling, its because they dont respect the blueprints. a good eye can see how wrong its the f-15 nose modelled. also that EF 2000 has a wrong modelled nose and i told him a while ago to correct it and i didnt see any changes. that mig29 is worse than the original one from the game so the mod is useless...and the f-22 has an unrealistic profile, check the blueprints or any photo....

3) this is what i said: "have to tell you guys that if you decide to make a mod , PLEASE do it right". i think you missed that word. and my post is constructive..

4) why dont you show us what can you do in lomac development? cause all i see you can do is talking shit...
