Can we please have the ability to call our wingmen and get them to tell you their current fuel level.

This has been an issue since the dawn of time in DCS, is this ever going to happen?

I 2nd that, I would also like the ability to know what their weapons state is. I know that you just view his plane using F2, but I think that it would improve the immersion if he could report both fuel and weapon state.

Just assume your wingman's fuel state is bingo and within 2 minutes you'll hear: 2 ejecting.

I just had an F-15E do that after about 10 minutes.

It's almost impressive how bad they are.

They are much better if you actually care where they are and what they do, and fly accordingly to let them catch up without AB.

That goes right out the window once air combat occurs, then, assuming they survive you have no idea what it is.

I note that every time this topic is brought up, there's never any answer from anyone at ED, so I have to assume they don't want to answer... which is an answer.

A IRL flight lead would not have to babysit their wingmen like that, they have fuel guages in their aircraft, they can keep an eye on it, and will let their flight lead know they're bingo when they actually are, and not say so several thousand lbs of fuel later, and they'd know that if they're low they'd have to fly in a way that conserves fuel, or they'll say they need to go to a tanker or an abort/emergency strip.

The AI however doesn't seem to do any of that, so the very least we could expect is for us to be able to ask them until their fuel management is fixed.

He's sort of right, but even if you babysit them, you get a couple of minutes warning depending on the aircraft. There's an Su-25T mission from Mozdok(?), where you go over the mountain and if you don't send him home after he's fulfilled, his objectives, (or at least made an effort) he won't get home. Even IF you actually babysat him, and you can go home no problems with having basically destroyed every enemy, even if that's not the objective. 🤷🏼‍♂️

A flight lead most definitely cares for his wingmen and there are specific procedures to get whole flight into formation, not like he acts like a singleton and expects all to chase him.

Of course there is much missing from AI functionality but you have big influence on the outcome atm. If there is a fight, you're losing fuel too.

There's going to be an expectation that the pilot in the other jet following you around the place will let you know they're running low and call bingo when they should have, and will have enough fuel at that point to either RTB with some margin, or head for a tanker.
