Made a simple mission for people who want to discover the new "hidden" airfield mentioned in the patchnotes.

The name is Caleta Tortel, and it's been sitting there, beyond the map's northern boundary, for several months (unfinished until now).

Ricardo, thanks - not quite what i meant by the question!

@Devs … Any plans to expand the F10/ME map view to include Caleta Tortel in a future update?
Lovely little airstrip, but would be nice not to have to edit luas to set coalition or place on-ground spawns.

I decided to go and search for the airfield, taking off from O'Higgins.

Screen_230903_232157.jpg

Field's a bit short, so the key lies in a good approach.

Let's put the rubber onto the first few feet of the strip.

Landing was short'ish but not too critical. Let's see if we can squeeze her out again! Single seat, 2600lbs of fuel.

Well, I basicly rotated her into the pedal-shaker at 100KIAS and she leapt into the air, just making the opposite river-bank by a couple of feet. I guess retracting the gear right away did help.

Back to O'Higgins.

It's a nice little airfield and it will be cool for C-130 ops. Hopefully RAZBAM can extend the F10 map/MP to include the airfield, so it can be used by mission-builders!

Indeed .. I was lucky to travel this area ten years ago, on March 2013 ... this is the river that is near Tortel, Baker River:

And this is Tortel .. it has no regular streets, only wooden walkways:

Wish I will be able to go back there sometime on the future. 🙏

Wow! Cool Place, nice Pics, thanks.

I hope Razbam expand the map boundary to include this strip, I was particularly interested in this area and was happy to have O'Higgins,

but Caleta Tortel is really tucked into the mountains, so cool!

No, this airfield has been completely removed from the map.

Well hell....someone is a Debbie Downer. This is (was?) a very beautiful sight, I went there (in DCS) at dusk and the lights in the town, surrounded by mountains was beautiful! I had to eject so I could walk around a bit, and thought I should place a WW2 Jeep and a OH-6A there to drive around. I've read a couple times about how to do this, as it's not accessible via normal methods...if anyone has a link to help out with this, I'd appreciate it!

i may re-enable it in the future, but my thoughts are its not visible on the map, and IMPO is far too close to the edge of the map
