JOKERACTS Posted August 11, 2023 Posted August 11, 2023 Why the Apache AH-64D block 2 with FCR/RFI removed at default for mission editor and fast mission generator?
razo+r Posted August 11, 2023 Posted August 11, 2023 Because ED has set it up that way. Possibly because the FCR isnt implemented yet. 1

JOKERACTS Posted August 11, 2023 Author Posted August 11, 2023 Then the Apache just pinpoint the target with laser/FLIR and load the INS data to AGM-114L, the AGM-114L guided to the target using the INS data and home it with radar while near the target?
Dr_Pavelheer Posted August 11, 2023 Posted August 11, 2023 That's the general idea. Even with FCR you don't illuminate the target or anything, you hand off targeting data and missile does the rest on its own 1

The AGM-114L doesn't care so as long as it gets valid data. Range, relative position, target velocity, and a few other bits of data are all it needs. Whether that comes from the ownship sights (TADS, FCR) or from another aircraft (RFHO) is immaterial. 2
Silver_Dragon Posted August 11, 2023 Posted August 11, 2023 ED dont implement yet FCR, comming on a later update. For Work/Gaming: 28" Philips 246E Monitor - Ryzen 7 1800X - 32 GB DDR4 - nVidia RTX1080 - SSD 860 EVO 1 TB / 860 QVO 1 TB / 860 QVO 2 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Warthog / TPR / MDF
Grennymaster Posted August 11, 2023 Posted August 11, 2023 think of the FCR as a powerfull target aquire system. It can scan a high amount of targets and sort them for you. via link, the flight would set there targets and then engage. the Lima Hellfire is "just" a fire and forget weapon. the idea behind was primarly that the helo has not to stay over its cover till the impact. what always is to considre when shooting the Lima, how croudet your targets are. The Missle itselfs does not hit the target you designate when to many targets are in a close croud. roughly about 30-50m circle. take your time an praktice on the range. you will get a feeling for when the Lima will hit the target you want. in our unit we are cariing a mixed loadout of L and K Hellfire, so you can react to nearly every threat 1
