spec10 Posted December 1, 2023 Posted December 1, 2023 (edited) I just stumbled over the exact same problem while trying to build a scenario for May 21st 1982 ... this is really a shame. That bay is one of the most prominent spots of the Falklands war. The Brits brought their whole landing fleet into that bay, including a patrolling frigate, the HMS Plymouth. spec10 Posted December 1, 2023 Posted December 1, 2023 (edited) For anyone looking for a workaround for now: I did some digging in the mission editor luas to see where the water depth is being checked. Turns out, ships have a draft value that gets checked against water depth. Now, I could not find that value in the ships luas from the SA Assets, so I guess there's some default value for shiptype or something like that. Anyway, long story short, you can overwrite whatever is default by adding GT.draft = yourvalue_in_meters to ships. You can find the ones from the SA Asset pack here: Edited December 1, 2023 by spec10 2 2
IvanK Posted December 3, 2023 Author Posted December 3, 2023 Nice work around Thanks. Hopefully a real fix to the depth will come in the future. 2

Thank you, really great tip, I will make a Mod for the ED ships that I use on that map, and modify the LUA of User Mod ships that I employ. 2 For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600 - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia RTX2080 - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB
IvanK Posted December 7, 2023 Author Posted December 7, 2023 Running the cursor over San Carlos water in mission Editor gives depths of around 7 feet as compared to real life of 70+ Feet.
rkk01 Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 Had the same problem today… couldn’t place a Leander in the bay, but could put HMS Albion (mod) in there Has this always been an issue? I’m sure I had some older missions with SA RN assets in San Carlos Water

I've got an old mission that has ships in San Carlos Water that can't be moved around in the editor because the water is no longer deep enough. Rolds Posted December 30, 2023 Posted December 30, 2023 I just got the map yesterday and I had the same problem. There is at least one strip across the entrance to the San Carlos bay which is only 3 feet deep, and the depth is quite shallow in other areas around the bay also. Even the little higgens boat cannot seem to cross this area to enter the bay. It seems the depth should be increased in this area.
