F-15C has loud static noise in some regions of the map since recent updates?

There is a loud static noise that plays through the Helmet audio channel when the pilot enters some regions of the map.

Here is a trk showing this problem at Ramat-David airport (Syria). The bug is probably present on other maps and regions. But this is the one I managed to replicate 100% of times.

Turning Helmet volume down aliviates the problem, but it is not a solution.

It's not really a bug. There are apparently some radio stations in the area of Israel and south-west shore that send this noise signal. Since the FC3 aircraft (F-15C and A-10A tested) are able to receive all radio transmissions we can hear the sound as long as we are in the area. There are multiple beacons there and I could test them in F-14 and F-15E by tuning radio to ex. 112.6MHz or 112.8... but there are many more. Best to ask the Syria map devs about it. Interestingly though MiG-29S didn't receive the signal.

Did more testing in multiplayer in Syria

Get the noise in the F-15C and A-10A... noticed in the radios that if i turn volume down on radio 2 the noise was gone.. radio 2 was set to 116mhz.. so i turned volume up again and changed to 118 and noise was gone..

There's a VOR DME beacon south-east of Damascus "DAM" transmitting on 116.00MHz. That'd be what you're hearing on that frequency.
In the mission editor, you can view the table of all beacons on a map under "VIEW" (at the top left) -> "BEACONS INFO".

It's back and very annoying. Did not try A-10 A, but can hear it in the F-15C with no chance to mute. Also hear it in Chinook until I mute TACAN radio.

I love to fly the F-15C in Syria, but the static on the radio is a pain in the butt. I tried to find the "Radio Mode" you wrote about but can't seem to find it. That's in the F-15C correct? How can I find it? I would appreciate your help. Thanks.

@Byteman21 As explained by @slans above, the noise you're hearing is produced b y the Damascus DOR VME beacon (116.000 MHz, just like on your screenshot).

In your screenshot, you are already using the Radio mode (the antenna icon is green). Now, all you have to do is change your "2 ARC-186 VHF-AM frequency".

 Reading the thread, they're not.

The screenshot is by SparrowLT just re-posted by Byteman21.

SparrowLT is "already using the Radio mode" & Byteman21 is asking them how to

"find the "Radio Mode" you wrote about but can't seem to find it. That's in the F-15C correct? How can I find it? I would appreciate your help. Thanks. "

In my case is left-CTL+lef+Shift+TAB wich brings the radio menu.. you can find it in controls under "voice chat" as "show voicechat window"

Thank you SparrowT, it worked.

@codyj007 ☝️

Enable the Voice Chat panel, activate Radio mode (the radio antenna icon must be green). Locate the radio dialed to 116.00 MHz. Change the frequency to something else. You won't hear the sound anymore.

I hope this is considered a bug and will be fixed in future update. Is there another way other than calling up the VC panel (a little painful in VR mode)?

Can you set it up in the mission editor?

Why 116.00 MHz?

This is easily addressed in the Huey by adjusting the VHF/AM radio, but what about other aircraft?

That's the real beacon frequency of Damascus.

Maybe we should ask for a different default frequency in DCS. But there are so many beacons in the world. How to make sure that a frequency is not already in use somewhere? Is there even a comprehensive list?

Of course there are many beacons but do they all play noise sound? Is this a new feature? You know that FC aircraft can hear all transmissions or has this changed with the new radio mode?

I'm pretty sure it is an unexpected artifact to either the Syria map or FC 2024 mod updates.

A fix is being made for what looks like a squelch issue. Maybe it's the same issue, but I'm not sure since this thread lacks a fresh track.

I cannot reproduce the issue in release with the OP track. Can someone please provide a track demonstrating the issue?
