Its a old version of pilot's shape, during preparation of the campaign, ED changed pilots for the new (better as well) 3D models of pilots.

No, the skin inculded pilot only with green helmets, it should also be added that it is basically appropriate for this period, so they fit better here.

Can I just say, this is hands down the best campaign I have ever played on DCS. like more then any paid campaign I have seen.

Well for us rotorheads liking the Hind. This is the best ever campaign. I am currently, when not interrupted by urge to fly the Kiowa doing it for a second time. It is a great one, I enjoy every mission. But sometimes I do not have that much time, the only thing preventing me to fly it more often is time.

Thanks for an interesting and challenging campaign. Szatan Arba is a great adventure which improves a pilot's competence in the Hind. I like the variety of missions and the level of difficulty. It is interesting exploring the intersection of what the Hind actually could do and how well that is represented in the DCS model. For instance I rarely choose Rockets because they are heavy and the lack of modeled splash damage renders them less than useful for me. I also rarely use bombs because of the aiming challenges and again questionable splash damage. Lastly I never carry the gun pods or the grenade launchers. I did find the cluster munition dispensers to be an interesting and useful weapon, I had never tried them before. This campaign really makes it plain how much care needs to be devoted to managing the weight of the Hind at high altitudes and what choices of weapons are worth carrying. Operations at the ragged edge of controllability really upped the stress of fighting in the mountains (in a good immersive way). I hope that as one of your goals in designing the missions, as you succeeded so well!

I haven't been able to work out what Arba means? Might you clue me in please?

Great campaign so far. Reached mission 8 - start of the offensive. Having a lot of fun with it, on spot difficulty and challenge, missions feel very suitable for the hind and the hind ability to absorb small arms helps the AI wingman going a bit too close sometimes.  

I personally don't mind the long ones, exactly the opposite. I enjoy the cruising part just as much. It also provides some other challenges like fuel management.

Challenge is exactly as I imagine it should be in a campaign, so anyone fairly competent with the HIND can complete the missions from first attempt without needing to replay them, unless screw up something big time. 

I have been close to fail only due to AI stupidity going suicide on top of enemies, but managed to keep him alive so far. Only lost #3 in the camp attack mission. 

So far everything worked fine, but unfortunately mission 8 - start of the offensive is broken and I couldn't finish it. It's due to the bellow ED bug, convoy stuck after the last ambush as "GROP ALIVE LESS THAN" does not set the flags as needed:

 

 

I will not continue the campaign until this ED bug fix is released so I don't ruin the experience as more missions might be affected.

That's right, this option doesn't work correctly now, unfortunately you have to wait until it starts working or you can skip this mission. Thanks for the feedback!

Thank you for the great campaign! It disserves to be paid one, more than most of the paid ones!  If you have patreon for it, let me know.

It also deserves to be re-made on the Afghanistan map, but I imagine that will mean re-doing it from scratch.

I wish if there were triggers for mission abort.
E.g I had to depart AO due to bingo+Winchester without completing the ongoing task. There were no triggers or messages I just RTBed.

May be an F-10 menu to report bingo or winchester or damage and be released to rtb. Give lower result but a mission pass since you returned alive to fight another day.

EDIT: or may be I could just rearm/refuel and return ? Didn't think about this option but not sure how it would have worked with the AI wingman.

Mission 7 not working.

In Mission 7 after every asset at the camp is destroyed the Mi-8s come in for landing. 2 are landing but the 3rd one (without cargo doors) circels around the area.

There is no progress at this point. I circeled around for approx 15-30 minutes and nothing happened.

Flying back to base i had a result of 29 points.

Now i'm fed up wtith it after spending nearly 2 hours for 3 times trying the mission.

Thanks for your's note.  It's possible that one of the patches changed some logic and it definitely needs to be checked. Since I'm currently working on something else I can't check it now, but I promise I'll take a look at it sometime.

Just wanted to say bardzo dziękuję for this wonderful campaign.  It's well thought out, the missions are very engaging  (and work exceptionally well on an incongruent map), and the quality is of the highest calibre. The most fun I have had in the Hind.

Shaitan-Arba means Devil's Chariot, first word Shaitan/Satan for Devil, and Arba for chariot. A little late reply but as nobody answered it I'm glad to help.

Take a look on the text under the translation in arabic, words are switched but phonetically are very similiar - earabat alshaytan and as I'm no expert in Arabian, I assume it was easier to say Shaitan Arba than earabat alshaytan, I really don't know and it's just a guessing game for me here.

Don't let me even start with other nicknames for the hind which Russians had, such as stakan/стакан, Galina/Галина (Galya/Галя), striped/полосатный, and of course the most famous one, krokodil/крокодил

To my knowledge such nicknames were for a reason - Stakan (Glass) because of the Mi-24A version which looked like a greenhouse, not sure of Galina, but I am suspecting it's because Galina Rastorgueva was one of female pilots (other one being Ludmila Polyanskaya) who flew a special Mi-24 variant for breaking the speed record for helicopters when they stripped hind of everything that was unnecessary to make it as much as light (and yes, they used women because they were lighter than men) and they hit speed of 368.4 km per hour which was in 1978 quite a feat. Nickname Striped was because of chechen war, most of hinds were 'sporting' invasion stripes to be quickly recognisable and to avoid friendly fire. The Krokodil one is a self-explainatory I think.
