I just tried these (after taking careful note of what I had already 😁).

I had my pedals about the same but noticed you'd checked the slider and inverted them. I don't know if that's an oversight or if you fly very differently than I do but I left my pedals as they were (MFGs too 🙂).

Pitch, Roll and Collective I tried your settings. I use a Warthog TAS and had it set up for the loach the same as I have in the Huey. Taking off was always bit of a leap and run and I wouldn't have got an instructor to go near the airfield, let alone sign me off in one the way I was 'taking off'.

The minute I started to hover after trying your curves I was sold. They're staying exactly where they are. I took off more or less properly and have much better control of it than I've had yet. Yeah, it's still a twitchy little thing and yeah, I may have just banged it into a tree doing slaloms but it's a hell of a lot better.

Cheers for the combination 🙂, I still have to wonder about your pedals though 😄.

I will check them I think...... very busy yesterday 🙂

These are the Pedals Sorry!!!  lololol

Both RZ on my settings

This was the Collective.... its now same with zero curve 🙂

Also dead zones of 5 on both pitch and roll is also smoother for me at least!

I was expecting a box to fly for video contents...

... understandable, many children seem to have more fun with the box than the toy present that was in the box!!

I’ve been flying this about on a training type mission (messin about) learning to control it better. It’s all been going ok until I crash the heli. DCS freezes the screen, sometimes still playing the alarm in the aircraft and I have to force-close DCS to break out of it. Had it happen more than a handful of times or I wouldn’t have mentioned it. I’d put it down to just one of those things but I’m wondering about it now. It’s fine until I crash it into something so maybe something’s reacting to that?

Anyone else seeing this?

Curious about the controls indicator thing I checked folders out, copied the controls indicator page into the oh-6a/cockpit/scripts folder and booted DCS. Now I don’t have a controls indicator anywhere 😁. I’m doing magic tricks but have no idea how I’m doing the conjuring. It’s not that I really need one, just niggles me how I can bugger something so simple.

Still, loving the Loach, looking forward to seeing what’s in the update.

Aren’t the pitch up/down key bindings reversed?

Pressing the key assigned to trim pitch down moves the diamond symbol in the controls graph overlay down, which results in the helicopter nose pitching up. And the opposite for the key bound as trim pitch up, which makes the nose pitch down.

... well, he could have said it!

"Deadly Encounter" remake! If you haven't seen the flying scenes in this movie you're missing out. Full movie is available on YouTube.

Tobi and 8Ball - Just want to say this little chopper has provided a massive amount of fun to me and my mates.  Thank you so much for making this for the community.  Looking forward to seeing what comes in the next patch.

Below is a video I put together yesterday for my buddies and they suggested I share it here on this thread for other Cayuse fans.  This captures one of my most memorable DCS experiences is many years.  Hope you all enjoy.

A couple of notes.  (1) There is all sorts of NSFW language in this video.  Please don't play around sensitive ears.  (2) The beginning shows a B-52 landing at Anderson skip forward to 1:09 for the Cayuse action.  (3) This was filmed in VR so there's lots of head movement.  Vertigo warning.

Good stuff Kandy! Mine is uploading to YouTube now and I will have it up soon from another perspective.

Tobi and 8Ball - I second the above! Thank you so much for the mod.  We are having a blast with it.  If there is any way to make individual Viet Kong infantry units that can engage, that would be awesome.  I hope there is more planned for the future.  We have had hours of fun already in Cayuse.  Also love the AI Seaking.

I hope the next Cargo helicopter you choose to work is an older one from this era.  Maybe a Jolly Green or UH-34?  That would bring some good stuff to the scene with SAR/Sandy missions along with Cargo runs and hoist operations.

The video below was a combination of several flights with me and the boys.  Been putting together a simulated Vietnam environment on the Marianas Map.  Most of this stuff is randomly spawned in groups throughout the jungle that Mistermann has been creating.  Makes each time different.  In the Cayuse especially, it gets crazy flying over a random spot of jungle and taking small arms fire.  It has been fun locating targets in the OH-6 and marking for the Phantoms and A-4s.  Words do not really convey the experience in VR.  Flying low with doors off and having the F-4 roll in overhead and take out a hill will never get old.  I have that time stamped in the video below.  Looking forward to seeing how the mod progresses and if anything else will be added in the future.

Not sure if it’ll be to the flight model but there are plans for more tinkering apparently 🙂.

ETA: Not that it’s unflyable now, I’m happy with it.

so i tried your settings @Marshallman and it seems completely unflyable ! immediate crashing on take off - lots of spin and hard to correct. i am using 1.1 version as well - even re downloaded it - question re the warthog - do you have springs still in it for the cyclic ?? Ah and i don't have virpil collective - just realised i still using the thrustmaster at present...

just want to check re the figers are they minus symbols in front so where you have pitch 0 -50- 50- 0 is that -50 to 50 ?? i assume its just 0 50 50 0 ??

Cheers

There were some crazy bindings when I installed it that I'd missed. Worth making sure they're all cleared.

I'm using the WH HOTAS with no extensions and more or less the same settings as Marshallman. Much better control of it now.

It's a belter 🙂.

yeah i had the same and i've cleared all them bindings - but i'll do another double check, the problem appears to be roughly below 60 knots - after that its fine. Does anyone remove the spring on their wh hotas on the cyclic ?? the constant return to center doesn't feel right to me when flying a helicopter... ???

I have a green spring in my Warthog. I should look for a softer one really. When I was messing with it I tried it without a spring at all for an hour or so. Silly idea 😄, I should get myself some heli HOTAS probably as I'm getting somewhere with em lately, the huey I'm fine with and this little bird's great. Yet to learn the Apache sytems, same with the Gazelle but I can fly em. Some crackers on their way too (Two weeks ™) 🙂.

For now, the green spring with nothing else but the standard Warthog is all I'm using. Marshallmans' curves and clearing out the crazy bindings did it for me. Good luck with it, you'll love it when you can whizz it about 🙂.
