Which weapons did you equip? Need to be minigun or rockets. Do they work?

That's the only weapons I tried. No they do not work. I will try to send a track file, not sure that will help though.

There might be a problem with the installation if the weapon do not work. Do you have this: Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Mods\Tech\OH-6A_Weaponpack ?

The weapons work fine. The helo flys great. I just don't see the grease marks. I will have to check to ensure the grease mark switch is ticked in the options each time I try to fly because I run a script when launching DCS and that might have something to do with it. Right?

Thats likely. It usually works fine. I don't know what the script is doing

can you maybe check your settings that your throttle doesnt jump between 100% and 99.5%? Because i dont have that issue.

Tobi, 8Ball: 2-3 thins i experienced. Please note, that i play very picky. So decide by yourself if you want to adress it or not.

During Engine Start, the Raise of the Temp should be a bit Quicker and not going over the Red Line. 750, to 770 is a normal start Temp,

There should be 2 Peaks at around 25% N1 and 35ish

You can see here that the needle slows down and then continues to raise

You should be able to release the Starter at 56-58% N1 (In the Book its 58 but in the RealWorld it works also a bit earlier.

Idle 60% is the minimum you should have as per the Engine MM, standart is 63% (60 to 65)

When doing slope landings, the Cyclic feels less responsive. a few degrees bank towards the hill and youre not able to recover.

At the End of an AR, when cushion the Landing, it behaves as it would have a torque on the Tail, so you have to Push Power Pedal. Can you please Check? Im not able to post a track until sunday

Please note that i really really enjoy this bird!!

Coming back to this.

About the slope landings. What are a few degrees? I got this from the manual.

Hi, I copied the stock weapons training mission over to the Saved Games/Missions folder. Then opened it in the ME and removed the instructional training triggers so I could use it as a 'template' for making a custom mission. But the OH-6A now sinks down forward on the FARP landing pad (screenshot red outline). This happens whether it is set to a hot or cold start, taking off from ground or parked, MSL or AGL. This wasn't so in the stock training missions. Any ideas? Thanks.

Update: So I moved the OH-6A back away from the wooden part of the landing area onto the dirt part and it was ok (screenshot green outline).

Try to install updated "Vietnam assets pack". See my post from September 05 on page 36.

Here is my Attempt. incl a fucked up AR at the End 🫠

Thx for the track.

nullThe slope here is more than 15 degrees.

I took control in your track and tried myself. It helps to keep some collective in until the skids touch the ground completely. The ground contact behaviour contributes here. It is hard to tune the code for that and the influence on some things like friction on different ground types seems not possible.

Setting it down is not the issue

its more the balancing on a sideslope and when you bank a few degrees to the hill its hard to stop or get back (look at the cyclic i need to bank back) thats the only thing i „brag“ about. Everything else  its really enjoyable 🙂

maybe a little more suspension tuning helps

most POH don't specify angle limits for sloping ground. we are taught by the instructors 'to the limit of the cyclic controls', meaning that you need to be able to keep the rotor disc horizontal while the skids settle on the sloping ground, without 'bottoming out' the cyclic, if that makes sense.

also, it's different angles based on the orientation of the helicopter in relation to the slope direction, you get less degrees when slope is downwards, obviously your tail rotor would hit before any other issues (it is quite inadvisable to land tail rotor uphill, just pointing it out for the sake of discussion).

for contrast, the Mi8/Mi17 manual does state some angle limits, namely 7deg nose up and 5deg sideways, probably based on some other limits, CofG or wheel brake holding power, not familiar with why these precise limits, but this also considers the rotor mast built-in forward tilt when helicopter frame is horizontal. quite a different machine.

as a side note, sloping ground landings are part of the very basic helicopter handling syllabus, it's mandatory even for PPL level, it's taught right after being able to achieve a somewhat stable hover.

Question about control setting for sun visor: I have key bindings on it but there is still a red exclamation mark next to it. What give?

Probably already done it but will mention it anyway as it's come up before. Did you clear the key binding before adding the key binding, if it's default and red then clear it and just change it.

I got a few red exclaimation marks on mods, some are because the key is used in a menu and not in flight so dual purpose, I normally change them anyway as I don't like red exclaimation marks

Radio Problems...

I was having trouble on the "In Country" multiplayer server last night while communicating with SRS in the Loach. I could communicate just fine outside the aircraft, but when I jumped in to fly I lost all comms even with all radios on and apparently functioning. Have you heard anything regarding this? Or, do you think it may be server specific?

I have flown since the latest update with no issues.  I am running comms through SRS though, not directly through DCS.  Also, you need to ensure both radios are turned on and the colume is turned up for both.
