Once again - I appreciate the "just don't use technology then" response to any criticism of current privacy practices, but that type of reductive response would not get you very far in any professional or academic field. But then again this is just a message board, so it's pretty much the level of discourse expected here. 4 Modules: Wright Flyer, Spruce Goose, Voyager 1
Retnek Posted March 20 Posted March 20 https://www.oo-software.com/en/shutup10 Good round-up. It explains detailed how to keep your preferred level of distance. 1 "Those who admire me for my 275 kills know nothing about war" Günther Rall

But when you say you don’t trust those then what other option do you have? Nobody is forcing you to have a smart phone or a PC. i9-14900KS | ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO | 64GB DDR5 5600MHz | iCUE H150i Liquid CPU Cooler | ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 4090 OC | Windows 11 Home | 2TB Samsung 980 PRO NVMe | Corsair RM1000x | LG 48GQ900-B 4K OLED Monitor | CH Fighterstick | Ch Pro Throttle | CH Pro Pedals | TrackIR 5

We are already way off topic, so I'll just chime in with this: the USA have just become a textbook case of what can happen if a government simply disregards privacy laws and grabs private data. The damage is done, and the flimsy protection that "US laws" afforded their citizens evaporated over night. Here in Switzerland, the reaction is swift and decisive: new policies in most privacy-sensitive industries (read: banks, payment processors, etc.) now implement kill-switches for private data should something similar happen here. Privacy is very important in a world where we increasingly meet, work and purchase virtually, and identity theft is but one of the challenges. Win 11 is intrusive, and - worse - made by a company that resides in a country that many no longer regard as a judicative safe nor reliable haven. I fully understand when people are concerned. How they react is their own choice, ignoring the risk is certainly one way. There are others. What this has to do with DCS is a mystery to me, so I just contributed to the problem without helping, I know 5

Why certain people cant figure out why people like their privacy is beyond me, its not like its up to them to figure out whats right for other people; some people just need to mind their own business which really bothers me as to the why he wont let it go. The answer isnt " give up on your computer and phone", the answer is "no more". Just because he's ok with it doesnt mean we all have to be ok with it. Its not like its the next step in moving towards a social credit score in a single world government....wait...it is?! Gee, wonder why people ARE so frustrated. Some people...just dont get it. There is literally nothing that can't be done in Linux just the same. In fact, apart from some appliances that simply aren't released for Linux, a modern Linux distribution is a perfect replacement for windows, down to the User-Interface. The vast majority of the programs a typical user would want on their PC aren’t available on Linux. So it’s a rather terrible choice for an OS on a personal machine. It doesn’t matter that it could technically do this, the fact that it has such a tiny market share means it’s never going to get to the same level as Windows in this regard. It’s a and dilemma. i9-14900KS | ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO | 64GB DDR5 5600MHz | iCUE H150i Liquid CPU Cooler | ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 4090 OC | Windows 11 Home | 2TB Samsung 980 PRO NVMe | Corsair RM1000x | LG 48GQ900-B 4K OLED Monitor | CH Fighterstick | Ch Pro Throttle | CH Pro Pedals | TrackIR 5
