In one mission I got hit with AA fire and got damaged. My Shkval and Abris screens stopped working.

Is there an easy way to navigate back to airport?

I tried to understand radio navigation (ADF...) from the manual but no luck...

You can use pvi. Probably airfield n 1 is where you came from.

But, in any way, you gonna try to understand the manual. Not a matter of luck, but effort, young padawan.

Assuming your PVI is still operational I would select the APT PVI-800 task button, select airfield point 1 or 2 (1 if departure/arrival airfield are the same, 2 if they aren't. you only get the #2 point if it's not the same as #1), and turn on mr. autopilot.

if you are close enough, you can call tower and ask for a vector - there is a radio command for this, forget exactly what its called. Other option would be if your wingman is still alive, tell him to RTB and follow him.

Sadly, I have had to use both of these techniques and they do work.

Alternatively, egress the HZ, gain a bit of Altitude and stick your head out of the Cockpit and navigate by Sight!

Aye, your last line of navigation equipment is always Mk1 eyeball.

It's when that system is out of commission from battle damage that you have a problem. :D

Also, make sure to always have 42 as the number of your aircraft. :P

Go high, select NDB channel of desired airport (chart on the right window) and guide by a RMI bearing to radio station needle on HSI.
