i know its too much to ask but i would love to see ground crew working on BS or up coming A-10 when we give them orders to refuel or reload weapons based on realistic timing... since you guys have given us such a great, detailed simulation one would like it to be more realistic... i know it would deviate from the main purpose of the game but one can always enable/disable that feature if it is provided... like turning on the tip lights should mean something to me that i have to look around if the area is cleared before i turn off the rotor brakes... its a little far fetched but can be possible...

"click YES if you think it would make a difference"

would like some feedback on this as well...

Yes but IMHO priorities should be same flights, avionics, physics ect. When these all are done well we can add this thing. Remember to create such effect it is needed much work - animations, 3D models, correct stick places (to prevent see ground mate who are refueling air not heli :D). Places from where people enter to work (some barrack) and cars (they won't carry fuel in their hands).

Generally yes but when more important things are done correctly and added new features (example better server browser, server management in default ect)

Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D

Absolutely priority should be the flight, avionics, physics etc. first... i think you guys have done a pretty good job in handling all of these above mentioned features... Now we want More :D... Yes details like proper entering and exit of the crew, proper hand positioning... i know it would be tough and whole lot of extra detail/work...feel sorry for those people whose gonna work on it but trust me it wont go waste...

I don't think it would be that hard to implement, afterall we've already got animated soldiers. Ground crews could spawn from a tent or truck, run over and then mill around the helo. ;) I guess, it's just a matter of time and priorites. I'd love it though - even if they didn't do much.

Feeling "connected" to the world with better briefings, plannings, ground crew, etc are worth 1000x getting the temperature tolerances right on the ganker valve assembly.

I would love to have this level of immersion in the game, but I voted no because there's other things I'd much prefer the programmers work on than this. It would be truly awesome, though.

Hard to implement. You may not want ground crew changing your weapons just using wrenches :D

WTH is "rotor brakes"? o_O

Brakes for the rotors...... This is the black lever under the fuel cuttoff levers.

And what do they do exactly?

If this is a serious post:

Basically if the brake is on it stops the rotors from being able to spin up, or if in flight it will eventually make them come to a halt (depending on your altitude etc.)

Make a bloody view control that will reset you back to the default view (the view when you first start in the aircraft). NONE of the dozens of view controls currently do this. This is a must for those of us who do not yet have TrackIR. Once this and the few other minor bugs are resolved .. THEN yes ... go ahead and add personnel. :)

Yes, i'd really like to see ground crew featured in a future update or DCS module (even if it were basically modelled)

Imagine that with the low altitude grass/foliage graphics that ED are experimenting with, oh yes :D

I am certainly for this. There is much more to flying than flying in the air. You have to get there as well. Part of flying would be to make sure the area is clear before taking off. I think that this should definitely be implemented in the game. Rep inbound for this poll.

Ground crew is an awesome idea for DCS ideally you want hand signals for startup, taxi, hover, approach and depart.etc

So far the only sim with ground crew interacting with the player was DiDs Superhornet which involved ground crew marshalling the Rhino onto the CAT which was very cool unless you accidentally ran someone over. I think a mod is possible with this stuff although ideally you would want it combined with radio coms in missions.

What about the tactical aspect?

Killing the ground crew could mean alot of different stuff.

Like you wouldn't be able to refuel/rearm...

Real life pilots don't spend so much time at war. They train navigation flights, procedures, safety too. I'm getting bored of these fights on and on. I would love to train some simple navigation flights, traffic patterns with intelligent ai around, changing weather, training emergency procedures, etc. In this area DCS has not much to offer...
