Gierasimov Posted July 30, 2024 Posted July 30, 2024 Is it possible to create a very simple (best guess / fake) GPS jamming unit in game? 7 Intel i7-13700KF :: ROG STRIX Z790-A GAMING WIFI D4 :: Corsair Vengeance LPX 64GB :: MSI RTX 4080 Gaming X Trio :: VKB Gunfighter MK.III MCG Ultimate :: VPC MongoosT-50 CM3 :: non-VR :: single player :: open beta

Easiest way I guess would be for ED to add a trigger. That stops GPS bombs from tracking within a trigger zone. Then really any unit can "GPS jam" 3 1 i7 13700k @5.2ghz, GTX 3090, 64Gig ram 4800mhz DDR5, M2 drive.

But yeah, GPS jamming would be really really nice to have in DCS! 4 Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!
DCS FIGHTER PILOT Posted August 1, 2024 Posted August 1, 2024 (edited) I would say let them focus on getting RADAR jamming to a decent point first. While it is currently present in game, it’s at a horrifically basic level. Edited August 1, 2024 by DCS FIGHTER PILOT 4
falcon_120 Posted September 29, 2024 Posted September 29, 2024 This would be great and easy to implementDefine easy XD. I can magine a lot of nuances and complexities in just some seconds.Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk 2
Dr_Pavelheer Posted September 30, 2024 Posted September 30, 2024 @falcon_120 It depends on how in depth you want to go. GPS denial could be fairly simple, just a trigger zone where GPS isn't available, but you could of course go more in depth like checking LOS from "jammer", simulate satellites being spread all over the sky and being rejected by receivers depending on their position in relation to receiver and jammer due to anti-jamming measures but for video game purposes I think that would be overkill 3

The question is, if the GPS/INS combined systems in modern modules are simulated to an extend that they can natively function with "bad" or temporarily missing GPS data. One would hope that module makers anticipated basic EW when simulating those systems. *bump* and +1 for GPS spoofing / jamming from me! It would give so much depth for 4th gen modules by forcing players to engage more with the INS component of their combined nav systems... 2
