Fumes 1-3 Posted August 21, 2024 Posted August 21, 2024 I've actually had this problem several times now but can't assign where it comes from. Sometimes after I made entries into the CDU like switching waypoints via direct-to or creating own waypoints, the moving map stops moving and the ETA and distance information stays the same. Every other information like active track or heading is still displayed correctly. I took the following screenshots the same time and the MFD tells me that I am still 73.5 NM away from the target, even though I am actually almost 3 NM away. The position in the MFD is the one I made the entries at. 1
Maverick87Shaka Posted August 22, 2024 Posted August 22, 2024 It happened to me several times too, I also did not understand when it comes from and what generates the error, sometimes happens to me just after take off if I leave parking brake on, but it's not the source of the problem, since it's not 100% reproducible, just some coincidence I believe, but it's worth to mention. 1 FlighRIG => CPU: RyZen 5900x | RAM: 64GB Corsair 3000Mhz | GPU: nVIDIA RTX 4090 FE | OS Storage: SSD NVMe Samsung 850 Pro 512GB, DCS Storage: SSD NVMe Sabrent 1TB | Device: Multipurpose-UFC, VirPil T-50, TM WARTHOG Throttle, TrackHat, MFD Cougar with screen. jonsky7 Posted August 22, 2024 Posted August 22, 2024 (edited) +1 from me In multiplayer so no track, sorry Edited August 22, 2024 by jonsky7
Rongor Posted August 22, 2024 Posted August 22, 2024 Its a problem with the currently basic state of the EGI implementation. Clicking EGI1 on and off will update the map but it will still remain stuck at the updated location then. Couldn't figure out yet what exactly triggers this. 1
ED Team Lord Vader Posted August 23, 2024 ED Team Posted August 23, 2024 Hey all. Yes the EGI systems are still being worked on. But we need some info on this. How long until this happens? Does this happen only in multiplayer? We really need a track whenever this happens because it seems rather random. 1 Esquadra 701 - DCS Portugal - Discord

Thank you for your reply, I´ve only recognized it in multiplayer, as I only fly MP but I can do some testing and check it in SP as well lateron. And there is no exact time until it happens, it just even happens or even not. But I can do some testing on this as well and come back to you.
Butcher59 Posted August 23, 2024 Posted August 23, 2024 IT happens to me in SP as well. No real clue how to avoid it. Sometimes if i fly a direct route sometimes when EGI pops up… 1 CPU: Intel i7-5820K 3,3GHz Motherboard: ASUS X99-A Grafik Card: NVIDIA Geforce GTX1080 Ti 337.50 RAM: 32GB PIMAX 5k+ BE Hotas Warthog with Simped Pedals WIN 10 64bit DirctX 11.0
Fumes 1-3 Posted August 23, 2024 Author Posted August 23, 2024 (edited) @Lord Vader I did some quick testing and as @Butcher59 already mentioned above, it happens in SP as well. I tried @Rongor´s solution with resetting EGI 1&2 and it indeed just updates the map to my current position and stays there for the rest of the flight (looks like only EGI 1 updates position; nothing happens when cycling EGI 2 only). I figured out that the map always stops moving when EGI 1 fails to whatever reason. I tried to restore my postion with resetting generators, update my postion by creating a new mark point via the CDU, I shut down the hole aircraft and did a full startup again but the "stuck map" problem remains. I then tried to trigger an EGI failure via harsh maneuvers or hard landings but wasn´t able to do so. So the question is what triggers EGI to fail randomly during flight and if it is accurate to lose position updates completely without having the possibility to restore it. Any other ideas? Butcher59 Posted August 25, 2024 Posted August 25, 2024 Best sollution for me is,don't touch the EGI, regardless if it is off or on, works since like a charme, no problems since... ED Team Lord Vader Posted August 26, 2024 ED Team Posted August 26, 2024 Hey @Fumes 1-3, thanks for the track. We'll use it to investigate this particular issue. Again, EGI is "w.i.p.", we'll tweak it to reach expected efficiency, rest assured. Thanks for understanding. 1 Esquadra 701 - DCS Portugal - Discord
LuseKofte Posted September 12, 2024 Posted September 12, 2024 Not always, it happens approximately 20% of the time I spent on Rotorhead server. Maybe on second trip or more. I have not experienced this offline where most hours are flown. I cannot replicate this offline, and I understand a track will not help from a long online session
ED Team Lord Vader Posted September 16, 2024 ED Team Posted September 16, 2024 Hi @LuseKofte There have been some reports of flighplan issues frozen after messing with the EGI. This is something we're working on currently. 1 Esquadra 701 - DCS Portugal - Discord
