Here I installed DLSS 3.10.2.1
and set the preset to K in Nvidia inspector
I did a flight test on several cards and the result is a minimum loss between 10 and 15 FPS in VR (that's a lot I think)
Am I the only one with this loss of FPS?

Tank you  for help

It’s interesting you say this.
preset k looks better than standard but I’ve been struggling maintaining fps - with my og crystal, quadviews and a 4090.

I’ve changed to the latest nvidia driver this morning and initial tests seem a bit better.

anyone else seen Peformance loss?

Since my last message I also switched to the latest nvidia driver and the loss of fps is much reduced now the difference is 5fps but dcs remains fluid despite that.
But I will do other tests to know if I keep the K setting or if I switch to G as some have said that their config ran better with G or F rather than with K.

Here I did some tests in VR with the preset
set to J and K and I did not notice anything that could make the difference between the two except maybe the preset K a little sharper
and I am not entirely sure.
But whether it is one or the other I noticed a clear improvement
compared to before (DLSS 3.8.) .
With the (DLSS 3.10.2.1) and the J or K setting in Nvidia Inspector I have
Just lost a few FPS but DCS remains fluid and the sharpness has been greatly improved.

Thanks for all the info here. I am using Tweaks and the DLSS Swapper for DCS. One issue I’ve had is the settings don’t stay where I set them. I updated to the latest DLSS Swap and used “J” in Tweaks. Worked fine but the next time I checked in DCS it reverted to the 3.7 and C settings. How do I keep these settings permanent?

Did you update your DCS today? It will replace the dll files with the original ones and you need to replace them again. ...if that was the case for you.

That must have been it. So if I get this right I have to re-Swap back to 3.10? Will my tweaks setup remain the same? (Still trying to get how this works) Thanks

Yup, all your settings will remain. Just need to put back the new DLSS4 310.x.x. dll again that has those fancy presets.

Use NVIDIA profile inspector. You can set this to automatically use the most recent DLSS version and the preset.

I tried using nVidia inspector. Set override to true and presser to K in the global section. However it seems DCS still shows that it’s using preset C.

Is there something else that needs to be set? I’m under the impression there’s no need to overwrite dll’s or use any other software other than the inspector, so not sure what’s missing.

Not 100% sure as it's been a while, but I think any DCS update will overwrite the DLSS with it's own (earlier) version. I used DLSS Swapper to pop in the latest (3.10.2.1.0) . May not be it, but if NvidiaProfileInspector shows you using the K profile and its not showing in game, it might be..

I don't know if This works via Nvidia App but DCS world now shows up in mine and the option to use latest is now selectable. Prior to the update i did yesterday this was not an option will test later to see if actually now working (3080)

I understand that’s needed using the overwrite method, but I thought I read somewhere that the dll didn’t need to be overwritten in DCS bin anymore with the latest nVidia drivers and inspector.  That setting the two settings in inspector was all that was needed to force the driver dll over the DCS one.

Guess I got that wrong. Maybe I need to try the dll swap method instead.

That's indeed how it works. The difference between DLSS4 and the default DLSS3 (and an older version of it at that) is VERY obvious, so you can tell immediately if it worked correctly.

Thanks for confirming.  I was still seeing a different mode showing up in DCS, so I’ll have to go and check it out again. If I still can’t get it, I’ll try the swap method to see if that makes a difference.

How are you checking which version of DLSS and which preset you are using? DCS does not show this.

it's an option (for me) to display the currently selected version when installing new Nvidia drivers using NVCleanstall, not sure otherwise..

I used the option to display information when running NVCleanstall to update my driver (which has an option to show the information in game). I was choosing preset-K in the inspector, but it's showing as C in DCS.

Follow the steps in the link @Art-J provided. There is also steps for enabling the hud overlay to display the preset, Ive never used NVCleanInstall but that might be fine instead. There are other versions of the NVPI which may enable that overlay as well.

If it still doesn’t work then drop a screenshot of the things you’re changing on the Nvidia Profile Inspector, including the selected profile.

This is how I also see which DLSS I am using.

Which Nvidia driver are you using ? Did you re-apply the Nvidia Inspector changes if/when updating the driver ?

This still works for me with an RTX 4070 using Nvidia Geforce 576.28, DCS 2.9.15 and NV-Profile-Inspector-Revamped 2.4.2.3
