nscode Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 So, I read around the web that the construction of T-50 prototype has started. :) Never forget that World War III was not Cold for most of us.
jpm1 Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 hope it'll go farer than the SU-47 , Europe on its side seems to be more unmanned oriented with the Neuron SU-25 missions [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
joey45 Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 T-50??? please explain. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. "Me, the 13th Duke of Wybourne, here on the ED forums at 3 'o' clock in the morning, with my reputation. Are they mad.." https://ko-fi.com/joey45
DarkWanderer Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 T-50??? please explain. It's internal Sukhoi "work name" of prototype planes. First Su-27 versions were designated T-10, T-10-2 etc. You want the best? Here i am...
topol-m Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 T-50 Prospective Aircraft System of Frontline Aviation (PAK-FA) - is the 5th generation fighter of the Russian Federation. The first flight was scheduled for August 2009 if there isn`t some new info that i don`t know about... Serial production is expected to start in 2012. BTW some new info i saw on the net about another russian aircraft: Russia plans to build 48 Su-35s in 2012-2015. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Maximus_G Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 http://paralay.iboards.ru/download/file.php?id=4373&mode=view AESA being demonstrated at MAKS
Vekkinho Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 BTW some new info i saw on the net about another russian aircraft: Russia plans to build 48 Su-35s in 2012-2015. I believe those are for internal use of Russian VVS & PVO, delieveries are to take place in that same period. At first I thought these planes were scheduled for export (to India, China, Venezuela, you name it) but I guess Russian VVS decided to buy 'em. Now with you saying about plans to build completely new airframes I guess VVS and PVO will have new birds and not those sitting in some hangar waiting for deposit before they depart. Here's the link to new Flankers of VVS & PVO: http://www.aviationweek.com/aw/generic/story_channel.jsp?channel=defense&id=news/SUKH081909A.xml [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Boberro Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 (edited) Started ? Eehh without proof it is like before, something exist but nobody has seen it nobody knows where it is, noone (...) :D Edited August 20, 2009 by Boberro 1 Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D ಠ_ಠ ツ
Maximus_G Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 http://www.lenta.ru/news/2009/08/20/fighter/ Second prototype ground testing has begun, according to general Zelin.

Eehh without proof it is like before, something exist but nobody have seen it nobody know where it is, noone (...) :D It`s true but the official are constantly talking about flight tests at the end of the year, so there must be some truth in all this. After all PAK-FA is one of the priorities of the Ruaf. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
zakobi Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 It's nice that they get new modern aircraft, but that the government favourise Sukhoi over Mikoyan, leads me to belive that Sukhoi don't have to do the best, they can, because of no competition. Any remember Su-27K vs. Mig-29K? But that's AFAIK.
ED Team Groove Posted August 20, 2009 ED Team Posted August 20, 2009 I will believe it when i see the first picture of the Su/Mig/F-22 mix :D Our Forum Rules: http://forums.eagle.ru/rules.php#en
Endoplasmic Reticulum Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 Started ? Eehh without proof it is like before, something exist but nobody has seen it nobody knows where it is, noone (...) :D Russian engineers cunstruct and build remarkable planes. No doubt but they are known to take their time... time...time... zzzzzzzz. what's the russian translation of "Siesta" by the way :D? I used to love her, but I had to kill her I had to put her, six feet under And I can still hear her complain A tribute to BBetty and NNadja :bye_3:

Any remember Su-27K vs. Mig-29K? But that's AFAIK. Well, Sukhoi airframes have certain advantage over MiGs! Fuel capacity / combat range, larger payload and a better weapon mix are just a few of them. I wouldn't call it favourizing anyone because it's obviously a better deal. Favorizing is choosing a poor product sold by highest bidder. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
topol-m Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 (edited) ^^^ This is not the real PAK-FA it`s just an artist concept of how it may look. First real "spy" photos can be expected at the end of the year when it begins flight testing. I doubt it will fly only at night so we might get a glimpse of it. Edited August 26, 2009 by topol-m [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Vekkinho Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 Like I said before those artist drawings remind me of F-19...and I must confess it's ugly airframe which simply cannot be the case with Sukhoi. So forget about it... :) Edit: Topol beat me to it! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
topol-m Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 Topol beat me to it! :thumbup: 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Shaman Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 http://russiatoday.com/Sci_Tech/2009-08-22/fifth-generation-fighter-maks.html so we have a low-res front view now ;) 51PVO Founding member (DEC2007-) 100KIAP Founding member (DEC2018-) :: Shaman aka [100☭] Shamansky tail# 44 or 444 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 100KIAP Regiment Early Warning & Control officer

topol-m Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 ^^^ Guys, it`s not time for photos yet. There hasn`t been official presentation of the aircraft and there are no spy photos confirmed to be real. There are just concepts floating around in the net. :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
