BluesRocket Posted March 11 Posted March 11 I finally received and installed my replacement wide screen monitor on my new to me DCS cockpit setup. I'm starting with the F-16 and will spend an hour a week learning the manual startup procedure. But I want to move into learning take offs and landing, navigation and comms, and eventually starting with Air to Air before moving to Air to Ground. A long process. I've noticed the RWR isn't on when I Auto Start. Is anything else that should be checked or turned on in manual mode not included in the auto start keystroke? From time to time I want to quickly test out things I've learned and jump into training missions or Instant Action without going through the manual process each time. Eventually I'll get it down but for now... Thanks. Tenkom Posted March 12 Posted March 12 You have to align the HMD and activate the countermeasures if you have TGP or HTS you'll have to turn those on as well.

If you start hot with F-16, HMD is aligned, its just not turned on yet (turn the HMCS knob to the right). If you have TGP preinstalled (in Mission Editor) it will be turned on at the start (on the ground or mid air) and instantly ready to use. Check here for all you need to know.

OP specifically asks for auto-start, so why are you including the other ways?
jackd Posted March 12 Posted March 12 (edited) General remark: I am more into WW2 planes, and also a tourist; not too much into one but like to switch planes a lot. So i got into programming Macro's for Streamdeck. The latter is not capable yet of sequences involving the win keys, f.i pressing Multiple action Hotkeys Lwin+Home with one button would not work alas, or Lwin+Lalt+1 for Rearming. Without a win key Streamdeck works fine. Been extensively communicating with Elgato Support, and they might come up with a fix. I got a Razer tartarus v2 gamepad added now that works fine with the win keys, alas misses the programming graphics displays of the Streamdeck. Has also only 32 buttons. Edited March 12 by jackd 1

I rarely autostart because manually starting is quicker, and i find it more enjoyable, but these are some things from memory: Hardpoint power switches aren't set CMDS panel is not set up HMD is not aligned IFF Master knob needs to be set Mavericks won't be boresighted Probably a few other smaller things out there, but these are the main ones. EDIT: HMCS is not powered on after an auto start. Edited March 13 by NytHawk 1

Aquorys Posted March 26 Posted March 26 More interesting is the question, is it different from a "hot" start, or one where the aircraft is already flying? I remember some switches being in weird positions in those cases... 1 F-16 / Su-33 / Ka-50 F-16 Checklists (Kneeboard compatible) F-16 BVR training missions
