So tonight DCS has spat its dummy out and suggested that my F14 is not authorised due to a vuirus.. see the attached file.

So, ive quarantined and deleted the affected file... run a DCS repair...  affected file reappears still affected.

Deleted whole F14 module from DCS and run a repair.  Re started DCS- no issues.

Therefore, thinking problem solved I have reinstalled F14 and restarted DCS and F14 is not authorised again because apparently these errors are showing in Logs and the virus is back affecting the file.

00988.689 ERROR: Can't move E:\DCS World\_downloads\Mods/aircraft/F14/bin/F14-HeatblurCommon.dll to E:\DCS World\Mods/aircraft/F14/bin/F14-HeatblurCommon.dll: (225) Operation did not complete successfully because the file contains a virus or potentially unwanted software.

Anyone any ideas please?

I'm guessing you're using something else than Windows defender?

Is it possible to exclude "E:\DCS world" from AV or defender then repair it again?

It was Windows Defender that was detecting it

It is interesting now because I also use Avast, and When Avast is running then defender is turned off.

Let me run Avast with targeting on the DCS world directory.

PS: I do have F-14.

I updated ten minutes ago and got the same threat warning from Windows Defender and the F-14 has been disabled on my client.

Antivirus are getting more arrogant, they used to call these files "potentially unwanted" but nowadays they straight up call them "viruses" which they are not. I’ve told my AV to exclude the dcs folders from its reach, and haven’t had any more issues since.

Yup, Avast did complain that dll file and I have to put it in the exception list 😞

excluding on a file by file basis solves this only short term, its better to exclude the whole dcs folder and solve this completely.

I'm having the same issue as well, but getting either a "disk write error" or a "missing downloaded files error" on steam after uninstalling and reinstalling everything. All my other modules are reinstalling just fine, but the tomcat refuses to load.

No dice even after giving an exception to the entire DCS folder.

Getting same f14 error and super slideshow performance tonight despite restart, repair, restart pc, restart quest 3

When I load up DCS, everything is normal, but it says my F14 is not authorized, and it will be disabled. When I go to the module manager, the F14 is not there, but it is still in my files.

This happens because your Antivirus program decided to delete one of the F-14 files (most likely a DLL because it thought its a virus). This stuff keeps on happening randomly to many modules whenever either DCS or the Antivirus providers ship an update.

You can fix the issue by adding the DCS folder (or just the corresponding file) to the Antivirus whitelist and then running a DCS repair to get the lost file back.

Hi All,

Many thanks and apologies that I havent replied til now.. time zones, i needed sleep. Its good to know that I am not the only one sufering this issue.. and that it's not and actual virus but as 'false positive'.

If oonly way is to add DCS to the A/V exceptions lists i'll do that.

🙂

Windows defender says I have a trojan? The file is F14-HeatblurCommon.dll

Exclude the entire DCS folder from the antivirus check.

Saves you trouble from future misbehaviors and have a nice perk of quicker loading times.

I set exceptions for steam and both dcs folders and still wouldn't install, pointing to the same dll file as previous commenters have stated
