Since latest patch, all armed ground vehicles are missing in all missions, including ME and single player.

No ships, armored vehicles, etc. But unarmed trucks and any aircraft will load in.

The included images show the MTLBs and BTR-80s are all missing. Also missing are aircraft carriers, T-72Bs, and BTR-80s.

No Armor No ships.trk

I have tried putting in exceptions in windows security for the DCS folder and have tried both normal repair and the 'all files' repair. Nothing has helped.

This is brand new today after the latest patch. Player-made missions and even stock single player missions and instant action missions are all affected. All armed ground units and ships refuse to load into a mission upon launch.

Has anyone else had a problem since the last update with regards to no carriers or boats with helo pads?

No, I'm not providing a log file.

Yes, I use a few unofficial mods.

I'm not troubleshooting yet. I was just looking for a response from others who may be having the same issue. No carriers, no ships, no boats are showing up since the last update.

How do we roll back? Is there a link available?

please attach your dcs log.

And if you are using unofficial mods please remove them. It seems some unofficial mods are creating a problem.

thank you

Yes BigNewy. I'm aware of step 1  in the standard troubleshooting process. Thanks

As I said, I'm not troubleshooting yet. I'm just curious if anyone else has been impacted by such a dramatic event since the last update.

Also, how do you rollback?

Second that. Tried to update a mission from last week, added a new unit and it only shows in the Editor, not on the F10 Map in-game. Older Units added before yesterday are not affected and behave (are visible) as expected.

It was a mod. When reminded to deactivate mods, I always remember to deactivate mods via JSGME, but forget to take them out of the username\dcs\mods folder.🤦‍♂️

In this case, it is VSN's F-4B/C mod. As soon as I remove it, the problem goes away.

Excellent!
Thanks for letting us know the conflicting mod!
Cheers!

If you don't use SkateZillas utility, you'll have to do it "manual" way, by typing required command and previous DCs version number in command window or powershell.

More info in this guide here (note: table with older version numbers is available in second post of that thread in "currently active branches" hidden content):

You have to use the command line.

First, you need the address of DCS' Bin folder. Open your DCS folder on your main drive (not the one under your username in Saved Games). Go to the "Bin" folder. Move your mouse to the address bar at the top of the folder. Right click on "Bin" and select "Copy Address as Text."

Now press the left windows key and the letter "r" at the same time on your keyboard. Type "cmd" in the box that opens and hit enter.

You'll now be looking at a black window (reminiscent of DOS from the early 90s). Click on that box. Type "CD\" (make sure it's the backslash with the top pointing to the left), then press left Ctrl V.
null
You need to use your arrow keys to move the cursor to the left and delete the "c:\" that I marked in red in the first image. It should look like the second image if you've done it correctly. Then press enter. You should see what I've included in the third image now.

Finally, when the command line looks like the 3rd image, copy and paste this line in and hit enter:
DCS_Updater.exe update 2.9.13.6818.2@release

That will run the updater and revert you to the version in that line.

It's not a mod, BTR80s are all missing in my missions, they're stock APCs.

I disabled all aircraft mods apart from civil and military aircraft and now it works, but none of them are by VSN so it's a broader issue.

I have this issue.  I think i only have a few aircraft mods.  No ground unit mods.

I will purge them and report back

Update: Seems mod related alright. But which one was the culprit I couldn't say.

i read above we can "disable" them?  is that different than uninstalling the files?  how is this done?

OK nevermind i figured that out in the module manager.

I disabled all airplane mods and the issue was fixed.  Now I'm adding them back one at a time to test which ones are ok.

So far these are OK:

  • Grinelli F-22
  • Grinelli Edge540
  • Community A-4
  • OV-10 Bronco
  • VSN T-45

And these are not:

  • Codename Flanker SU-30

So far I have determined the VSN F-4 and the A-4E Community mod are causing the issue. I'm sorry, but this is unacceptable!

Community A-4 works for me, for what it is worth

Double check the A-4E-C again.
What's unacceptable?
