Blackfyre Posted April 22 Posted April 22 (edited) Subj. When using DTC screen, every enemy and friendly ground and aerial unit is shown on the map, despite the "Map Only" option is selected. The same happens with other similar options: "A/C Only", "Allies Only". Statics are hidden as they should be. The same happens in multiplayer too. Unit's options "Hidden on MFD" and "Hidden on Planner" don't affect visibility. One could argue that DTC screen is a sort of a planner rather than F10-map. I can't post a track, since there is another bug, but it is very easy to reproduce. Mission attached. Steps to reproduce: 1) Spawn in DTC-capable aircraft. 2) Open DTC. 3) Observe all units you are not supposed to in real time. This is very critical for certain servers and massive events. tae. Posted May 3 Posted May 3 Can confirm this is an issue on patch 2.9.15.9599. I would agree that this is a very critical bug. Anyone can go on any mission, server and/or event and know where everything is.
skywalker22 Posted May 16 Posted May 16 For example, I am on Contention 80s server and if you press F10 (map) all units are hidden (this is how devs of the map set it up). But if you press rShift+rCtrl+K to open DTC interface, the map opens and all the units which are on the map are visible, blue and red. I suppose this is not OK, since the intention of the devs is that none of the units EXCEPT your self are hidden! Example: 3

You realize that fixing this is just one if-then block? Surprised that both responsible developer and beta testers did not see anything wrong here, since it's kind of obvious that in a "card" game you are not supposed to see the cards the other side holds. 1

From BigNewy's response apparently it's not that simple since "it looks like it needs another component before that can happen". Totally agree that it's something that should be on high priority fix list. 2
