If this is the case then the talk about 9.12 ECM is over (unless we talk about later pylon extensions). I doubt adding hump would have been an option, and perhaps the reason for Russians being reserved on that topic. 

Still crazier thing did appear (e.g. radar as a pod) at that time, so I always assumed that something similar could have been an option.

True, but even as pod it can't be mounted on center line. Maybe inner wing pylon. But that leaves you without R-27.

For 9.12, I’m sure they knew jamming was coming with 9.13, so why bother

Yeah. It would be nice to have the extra fuel and the jammer. I found a manual with all the modes for the jammer recently too

There’s also the small but not insignificant issue of the version that we have in DCS never actually being used by the Russians. Did *anyone* actually ever use them? Ukraine perhaps, as they were produced there?

What are you talking about? There was no full-scale production of R-77 missiles in Ukraine. They never used missiles of this type.

Were there any air to air bvr fights (that Russia fought) after R77 was produced and before Russo-Ukranian war ?

Not that I ever heard about. R-77s were carried by Su-35s in Syria but as far as I know never actually fired.

Yes, there were some air-to-air BVR engagements, but they were very few and their outcomes are questionable. And in these engagements, R-77 missiles were definitely never used anywhere at any time.

Hi, this is my 3rd time asking a MiG-29 9.12A question in the Frequently Asked Questions thread about RSBN and how we can use navigation in the available maps.

Where RSBN navigation is appropriate it will likely be implemented, but depends on the terrain and dev. I don't have a definite answer for you however.

What does appropriate mean in this context?
Can you provide an answer for example for the Afghanistan map, or Iraq?
Both of them are your products.

Regarding other products, it is to my knowledge that Orbx for Kola and Ugra-Media for Germany, are working towards having RSBN in their maps.

Pretty sure they delayed the release, not to speculate but i think its going to come out early/late september but thats only an opinion.

I do not have a date to share currently. We still have some dev tasks to complete and testing. As soon as we can share news we will. 

The plan is now for a Summer release

I preferred May 9th as release day.

Still I personally prefer more complete things later, than less complete things blowing up in the face spectacularly.

Also vacations are coming and developers are humans after all.

Less players to enjoy the wonders of the MiG-29 including me . I don't mind a release on the 1st July as long as it's playable much like the FC3, and no, I'm not saying I want a rushed product, I just want something to fly in.
