I'll preface this post by first saying nice mod ED she looks great!

However, no matter how many times I've tried, and even during the cold start tutorial, the AFCS system fails and I get a caution after the bit test. It's okay on a hot start, but I cannot get the system to work on a cold start,

I use a Moza AB9 FFB base and stick, and at first I thought that the sticks' feedback was upsetting the position of the stick in the cockpit during the bit, but I get the same results even if I disconnect the Moza stick, so at the moment a hot start is my only option.

Has anyone else encountered similar issues.

Resolution of one of the issues which was a hardware issue.

OK I have found that the AFCS start up takes control of the stick and deflects it. So the way that works for me is to completely let go of the stick while it's going through the start. I can imagine a FF stick might be an issue? but I don't know.

Don't touch anything when Afcs does it's thing. I use joystick without FF and no problems so far. Successful bit first time. Now i am not sure about FF. Maybe it can create problem, but should not output force if nothing is resisting ?

Same issue here with FFBeast- i'm not touching anything and the test sequence fails. Tried different profiles with different effects- still no change. The test deflection of the stick without any joystick plugged in look way too different than with the FFB base on.

I tried it several times without touching the stick (FFBeast as well), and it fails every time. The stick was moving on its own during this procedure. I guess I will have to try holding the stick, but I have a feeling it may misalign anyway. I doubt that I’ll be able to keep it in exactly the same position, especially when it tries to move on its own.

Not sure if this is a specific issue due to options in the server, but whenever starting a cold jet in the contention multiplayer server the gyros won't align after waiting 30-40 seconds to let them warm up and pressing the J + 9 keys. Also no matter how long i wait the fast alignment complete light won't come on.

Im mission editor, just placing a jet on random airfield I can get everything to work fine. So I'm not sure where the issue is.

It's probably a bug, and it might be correct that it moves. I haven't read the manual.

Hi,

Noticed that during cold start, when switching on the six pack below the battery switch one by one, the HDG flag disappears on the HSI until the NAVIGATION switch is turned on.  As soon as the NAVIGATION switch is on, the HDG flag reappears and stays on.  No gyro alignment takes place after waiting for 40 seconds and then holding both the J and  number 9 keys for 15 seconds.

The gyros will not align even during Autostart.

Tried both the short and long repair and even uninstalled and reinstalled the Mig 29 Fulcrum.  No help.

Flew the Mig 29 only in multiplayer.

Update:  The above seems to happen only on 4YA servers.  Just tried different servers and there is no problem.

I have advised 4YA admin.

Probably not, but without a track, we cannot know. This is not something we can reproduce.
I'll take your word for it!

Edit: I worded myself badly in the previous post. I didn't really mean "bug". I was more thinking "issue" with FFB setups. My computer is dead so I can't check myself.
