Applies to F16 as well. Has also been mentioned that it appears in multi-monitor setups with 3 monitors.

Don't believe it's seen on all headsets. I'm on a Quest 2 and don't see it in the F16. Somebody on a Crystal Super mentioned they don't see it either.

Hi,

its the nose cut out for the visor, it is not a bug.

We will certainly pass on your feedback to the team however.

thank you

@BIGNEWY the nose cut out makes sense,  but the angle it's at seems strange almost like the pilot has their head canted over in the 30 degrees in the 2d view and i assume the aren't flying that way ?

It stands out too much in my vr headset BSB2 and another quest 3 user complained, please see linked reddit post to see complaints.  Oddly its not an issue for Pimax Super users.

Please make it optional so we can go back to the way it was before.

maybe its resolution specific, I'm using a PIMAX Crystal and it seems fine for me,

we will ask the team about it.

thanks

Is this new? If so, it's terribly annoying and I'll have to roll back to the previous version. If it's a "feature" there needs to be a way to turn it off. It's horribly distracting.

Indeed. The nose gap is distracting and not confortable in the Valve Index. The nose gap moves when i move my head and it makes it worse to ignore.

I hope we get a solution for this, or, a way to disable at least the nose gap from showing.

Thanks,

I have the crystal super ultrawide and the bright nose gap is definitely distracting. Love the colors with the visor on though! I think an option without a nose gap would be great for VR.

I agree.

And it degrade VR performance about 2ms of Frametime (at least in my case and other user, it might not seem a significant value but in some situations it is).

I don't see it on my QUEST 3 but one of the Stingers who has the Samsung Odyssey said it was very distracting last night.

Resolution my in game is set to 1920x1080.

I moved my gamma from 2.2 up to 3.0 to make the cockpit a bit brighter, just personal pref. When I lifted the visor up it would a good simulation of taking your sunglasses off on a sunny day 🙂

Do we know if the Visor model changes anything the pilot would see, after all it would be a curved surface in real life.

Distracting to say the least, your eyes start to focusing on the visor nose gap border, it´s unconfortable. The nose gap moves when you move your head in VR which makes even more difficult to ignore.

Running Valve Index in my case.

I thought it was an issue on my Metaquest 3 but seeing this topic I feel better. And it happens only with F-16 and F-18 ( a little bit less visible with F-18 ) since the last update. But it's really annoying.

Refraction is not modelled in any way in DCS. If it was, we would see it in warbirds for example.

But then again, the visor is thin enough to render this a moot point I believe, and technology of optics has advanced a lot as well. I don’t see any weird things / distortions through my motorbike helmet visors either 🤷‍♀️
