And the map is even more appropriate for WWII scenarios.

I hope we will get Vis airfield for those scenarios.

Every time I go to dive aircraft wrecks around the island, I visit the airfield.

Better than the blurry mess that is Afghanistan, Iraq and large chunks of Kola. Very glad OnReTech like Ugra choose not to use "satellite imagery". Great from 30k, not so great on ground attack or take off and landing. Or for using helicopters.

I personally really enjoy Sinai, and the inly issues I had were some of the terrain geometry being a little jagged at first and .missing airports. Both largely sorted now.

As opposed to Afghanistan which I deeply regret buying.

I will say that Afghanistan was the only map I've regretted buying on launch.  But I will also say that with the recent updates I no longer regret it as ED has definitely improved it considerably since release.  Not my most favourite map, but a good one none the less.

I also like Sinai and don't agree with all the hate directed at it.  Maybe not perfect, but a nice map that I enjoy flying on.

The OnReTech Sinai map was the first and last map I will ever buy from them. I expected more from the Sinai map. The helipads are all copy-pasted and paste, and have no life in them. I genuinely regret the purchase. It looks like an AI-generated map with random objects.

I think the release timing of the Sinai map was really lucky. I remember that shortly after it came out, war broke out in the Gaza Strip, and during that time, my friends and I were closely following the news, carrying out similar operations almost every week to bombard Gaza... If my words accidentally offended anyone, I apologize. My friends and I are just looking for game ideas.

I feel the same way as you. Most of the modeling of the Sinai Peninsula was AI-generated, making the cities feel lifeless. Even after the recent major update, it’s still not ideal. A large part of the Sinai and Syria maps overlap, and even in the peripheral areas, the Syria map is clearly better made.

I’m really looking forward to the Balkans map. It’s the area I fly in most often in BMS, and I can only hope that the Balkans won’t be made the same way as the Sinai.

I really wish for the day that DCS World would use 30cm resolution for map textures...

I also really wish that we could modify bodies of water, atmospherics, and villages/towns on any maps as well. I think thats the one thing FSX/P3D/MSFS really does right, making basically the whole world upgrade-able. The one thing that always drives me nuts in DCS other than what passes as dirt patches is the random high rise crane in the middle of nowhere and everywhere and the bland water that always looks the same no matter how deep or shallow the water is.
