Spudman Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 You all know what we really need is a very well done AAA simulator. A simulator where you could operate various U.S., NATO, and Russian made anti-aircraft systems; everything from the Gepard, Vulcan, Shilka, and Tunguska, all the way up to the fixed positions such as the Patriot and the S-300 and everything in between. There have been a lot of ground and sea warfare games and sims. and many, many flight sims., but I don't recall any AAA sims. If you could find a good software developer that would invest the time and research it would take to produce such a sim., I think it would be a nice addition and a lot of fun.
SUBS17 Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 Arma is quite good for AAA although the radar needs some work. [sIGPIC] [/sIGPIC]
Kuky Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 Unless you have aircraft flying over your area non stop it would be a very boring sim I think 1 PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR
Boberro Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 Unless you have aircraft flying over your area non stop it would be a very boring sim I think Yes. Standalone sim would be really boring, BUT implemented in DCS series would be really interesting IMHO, when you support your team from ground in Strela, TOR, hide behind buildings ect. But it won't happen ;] 1 Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D ಠ_ಠ ツ
Peyoteros Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 (edited) In other words we need a multiplayer sim with Battlefield2 variety of vehicles, detail level of DCS, map size of LOMAC, and graphics of Arma2... and super duper mission editor. Spudman Posted September 14, 2009 Author Posted September 14, 2009 Unless you have aircraft flying over your area non stop it would be a very boring sim I think Yeah, you're right about that. The only way around that is to set up missions and campaigns, kind of like Borberro said. I guess it would be like flying an A-10 around and just hoping that you over fly a couple of tanks. But if you were traveling with a convoy or supporting armor, or even laying in wait because intelligence designated an area as a known flight path for enemy aircraft, then you got a good sim.
SUBS17 Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 AAA units aren't boring in Arma since as you can use them against ground targets as well although it would definately need to be part of an FPS to be playable. [sIGPIC] [/sIGPIC]
joey45 Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 And a Suped-Up ZX Spectrum to run it like the Clappers...........:joystick: i still have mine... not sure if it still works though. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.
