Thanks everyone! I'm planning to buy it once I get the money (and find out where I can buy it!) A bit broke at the moment, so I will have to wait a month or two before I can get the game :( And yeah, you guys did have a very good run for a Sim. Also from what I can see, the community on these forums are very friendly, even towards someone who sided with Killing Floor ^^

 

1) Even here in Greece it was possible to find DCS:BS at a very friendly price(28euros) for such a good quality of the product.

2) Sim is excelent indeed.

3) KF fun or not DCS is something very different. The community here is one of the best I 've seen.

It was nice fun and nothing more than that. Some people think about this thread as it's ridiculous and they play mature. Hello! You're on game/simulator forum. What are you doing here though? We're all kinda like kids here so chillout and let other play.

It's as it should be. I mean seriously - any good zombie game is one where you can't win against the zombies, only hope to survive longer than last time. (I can't count how many beers and hours I've wasted in front of the Nazi Zombies minigame in CoD with my friends :D )

 

So the proud Ka-50 gave a good fight but in the end the zombies won, as it should be. :D

 

And welcome, Voltali, hope you'll find the opportunity to get your own Ka-50 soon. If you have a CC you do not have to find a store though - just go either to http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com or direct2drive.

Such a warm welcome for someone from the community who was leaving horrible, racist remarks about you guys!

 

It's kind of...strange. Tripwire's first game was Red Orchestra. The first game ever to focus on the Russian/German WWII battles. And yet many of the Killing Floor players (made by the same company) started bashing Russians and even started bashing Red Orchestra on the forums... :/

 

I think I'm going to like this community very much c:

 

The Killing Floor community went to shit ever since they had a promotion weekend on steam. Basically, everyone could play the full game for FREE for like, a few days.

It attracted a lot of people. The community used to be MUCH better. But because of this, the Killing Floor community is slowing becoming worse then the Counter-Strike community :x

 

It's a shame really. I don't want a game like Killing Floor to have a bad rep because of the new members. God, I love FPS games. But I hate 90% of the players on them :(

 

Also last but not least. CONGRATS ON 2ND PLACE :D

Well, runners are in fact the best of each category. Would be cool an award logo for each category, the only logo seems to be for the game of the year.

It's a sort of fact that the FPS world is getting somewhat crowded with childish players who don't know a thing about anything, but still think they're right all the time. Not a reason to worry, they'll probably get better when they're 12 :music_whistling:

 

I don't really blame the genre and its mature players, like you and many others. The fact is, children like to shoot things up and see lots of explosions, and the community ends up suffering because of it.

 

Be sure we're all aware that, even with all the ignorant assholes and everything (if you're still watching this, now you kids have a reason to hate me :smilewink:), the FPS community is also filled with very nice, mature and friendly people, just as all other branches of games/simulators.

 

Neither Killing Floor or Tripwire will get a bad reputation among us because of some childish ignorants who often forget that the Cold War is over since quite a while. I think these will start hating DCS and flight simulators from now on, but honestly, it's better for the community if they stay away, at least until they get some maturity and learn about respect.

 

Well, feel yourself at home in here, I'm sure you'll love the DCS community :thumbup:.

 

Just a remark: I don't think it was the first, but IL-2 Sturmovik (by the way, another marvelous game for you to try) was released back in 2001, and also focused on the battles (specially air warfare) between Germany and Russia during WWII. Then it was expanded to other theatres, but the original game was only about the Eastern Front.

As for the results - I hoped for a logo. I guess ED may use the "Voodoo Extreme 2009 Reader's Choice" logo and put below two separate lines about two separate positions DCS BS has won. Just guessing.

Lucas, don't forget the IL2 expansion that included Sturmoviks over Manchuria. I bet there's never been a commercial product, ever, to cover soviet effort against the Japanese in Manchuria. :P

 

It's even more forgotten than the Finland/Soviet Winter and Continuation fronts.
