Anyone else have this combo and getting BSOD on module wmxlcore.sys? Wmxlcore.sys is a logitech file so I'm leaning towards a Logitech problem, not a Win7 64bit problem but Blackshark is currently the only simulator I have the problem with. Was fine when I was running Vista 64.....

Other sims like IL-2, ROF, Flaming Cliffs, FSX run without a hitch. If anyone has/had the same problem, please let me know if you found a fix. I've written Logitech support and they said they will look into it for LGS 5.09 release.

thanks.

Oh and by the way, there are no .crash files under /Ka50/temp directory after this happens.

Really? Nobody here has Logitech G940 with Win 7 64 bit? If there is anyone, can you please comment whether you do or do not have the same problem? Thank you.

Thanks for the confirmation. That's terrible because I use the shift button on the joystick quite a bit. Is this something ED can fix? I can't play this great simulation because of this issue :(

This is really interesting. I just installed Wings of Prey demo which installs the just released DirectX runtime (released on 2/5/10). After upgrading to this latest version, I haven't had the BSOD with Blackshark! Will need to observe for a while but it seems fixed with this latest DirectX version.n Thanks to Wings of Prey!!! :)

I spoke too soon. The bluescreen still happens. However, Hreich, you are right.....it seems to happen when the "shift" button is pressed. Not 100% reproducible, but happens about 50% of the time.

I'm so frustrated as I can't fly this simulator now. :(

On logitech forums, somebody said that problem is when using s5 as shift, and pov1 (plastic) on the throttle...I didnt tried to use some other button...

It's nothing to do with DCS.It's a known issue with the G940 and win7 and you'll just have to live with it until Logitech deam fit to make their drivers compliant with win7 could be a while off though they don't seem to see it as a problem for their customers, well not enough of a problem to release a hotfix anyhow.

Well, even if the root cause is not DCS, it has SOMETHING to do with DCS as it's the only game it happens in. At any rate, the fault occurs with a Logitech file that translates button presses to key presses so Logitech is looking into it. I'm just hoping ED can help Logitech troubleshoot it if necessary.

I have a g940 with windows7 x64. I DO NOT use the profiler to program. I just use profiler to set the default keys. I also DO NOT use the profiler to start the game. I config the g940 in the black shark under the options screen. I HATE the profiler program that came with the g940. I wish some day they will have something like foxy for the cougar. I wish post me joystick profile when I am done. I am trying to get more commands on it.

So today, I got this from Logitech regarding this issue:

"We are able to replicate the issue. The software engineer is resolving the issue by maintaining what is happening. The fix for the issue will be included with LGS 5.09 (this includes BSOD). There is no ETA for 5.09 as of right now. I would keep my eyes on the forum for posts from a specialist regarding feedback and releases."

Ok...i had blue screen when using shift button + any of the buttons on the throttle with my nvidia card 8800, win 7 64 bit, Intel e6400 duo core, gigabyte mbo. Then i upgraded to new ATI HD 5750 graphic card. Now I still have BSOD using shift button and buttons on my throttle. So i can confirm this problem is not related to graphic card or its drivers.

have you tried giving the G940 folder (assuming there is one and in particular the Profiler) the Full Permissions (ala Vista) treatment?

Also check to make sure the drivers are installed correctly... sometimes (for certain files) W7 64 doesn't like updating from windows drivers properly (eg: some of the PCI Express Root Port drivers for instance)

Folks, it looks like Logitech is close to releasing LGS 5.09. It should be coming in the next couple of weeks. I hear that a firmware update is included. It also looks like once the upgrade is done, you cannot go back to the older versions because of the manipulation it does to the joystick. I'm looking forward to finally being able to fly my Ka-50 again. It's been so long I've forgotten what all the knobs, switches and buttons do.

Had the same +problem with BSOD when using shift button, but I have since then retired the pedals and throttle (replaced by older CH ones) and all is fine now. Will buy another HOTAS and burry the G940 never to look back at anything from logitec anymore.

I'll believe it when i see it. With all the stuff they pulled, i'm not too confident. If they get it right, i might get a replacement for my failed unit but if not, i'm not gonna risk getting a unit that doesn't fail, being stuck with crappy functionality.

So far, all the new HOTAS systems have been disappointments. I really hope TM have their stuff together.

I almst pulled the trigger and bought this when it came out. It could have been the perfect stick for the Blackshark but seems to be still a lot of issues. Sorry to hear about you guys having so many issues. I'll be watching your posts closely when the new software comes out to see if they can resolve the FFB centering and BSOD issues with this stick.

Please keep the rest of us updated if/when the resolve the issues. Maybee I'll buy one off EBay when they finally do. :)

BSOD issue is resolvable as I posted above.... and supposedly will be fixed for good in the patch.

The FFB centering, well, Logitech has promised a change to third-party compatibility in this patch.... hopefully it makes everyone happy on that matter!
