I thought the same, but had heard that due to some of the classified nature of the superhornet, it would be easier to make the Legacy Hornet.

Sorry, I meant the fact that they registered that domain! ;)

You don't know that!

Oh I do know that, 3 of them are quite new with a lot of their systems still secret, the last one is no longer in service. Now if we are talking F/A-18C that's different but don't expect to see E/F much less F-22 and F-35 in the next and after the next DCS module.

^^ people just don't know anymore what ED can and can't do.

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

You do know that DCS Producer/Developer Matt Wagner was a main contributor to the award winning EA Jane's F/A-18E SuperHornet Study Sim more than 10 yrs ago.Right??

Just like the A-10C with some things still classified that we do not see in sim,It doesn't mean DCS can't produce a Highly accurate, High Fidelity representation of The SuperHornet.

The relevant question would be: is ED able to produce a representation that is sufficiently high fidelity for what they want to do? Just doing the same thing somoene else already did (or, in the case of Matt personally, what he himself already did!) might not be thrilling... :P

Don't make too much out of something as simple as a registered domain. :)

The difference is while just small amount of A-10C's systems were left out if there is DCS Super Hornet one big part of its systems (particularly radar modes and functionality and EW systems) would be left out which would mean you can forget about "high fidelity". Mind that I'm not saying there won't be DCS Super Hornet ever, I'm just 99% certain it won't be the next DCS module, which is what this thread is all about.

Agreed! I'll be Happy with a Legacy or SuperHornet, but the possibility of Carrier Ops would be a HUGE Addition to the Sim IMHO.

Also, to stir the pot a little bit, the Eurofighter, Rafale, and the Gripen are all the same airplane as far as I'm concerned. Muahahahahahahah!!

:devil_2:

Yep, and the MQ-1 and MQ-9 are the same aircraft as well, they just put the tail plane on upside down.

Don't feed the troll. :P

But sure, they all have canards, so it's like MQ-9 and the Kettering Bug - both have straight wings so same thing. :D

No it doesn't, but it does have a foreplane.

A foreplane controls pitch, whereas canards control both pitch and roll.
