Next DCS (US) Fixed Wing Aircraft Wish List

We'll know when we know, but personally I wish I felt more "cared about" by this company than I do. Do they owe it? No. That doesn't change the fact that is how I fell at present.

 

The thing is, the community is being kept in the loop where possible. The announcement by Wags is testimony to that. In case of the jet, well, it is just not yet possible.

 

Also, i know that i am repeating myself, but realise that ED are a comparatively small company, there's only a handful of people that are in a position to do PR work and they often get tied up with lots of other work. Hell, those guys hardly ever have time for vacations at all. If you could have a look at the grand scheme, you'd realise that ED are hard pressed to do the best they can, but EA or Blizzard style PR work is just not possible given their return spans.

 

Personally, i always prefer kick ass sims over (excuse my flowery language) sugar being blown up my behind, and that is exactly where ED delivers.

ED knowns the fast jet they are working on is the most popular one.

 

i doubt popularity has any sway over what vehicles they do, much less popularity as measured via a poll on the forum.

All I know is if it is a fast mover I hope theres a lot of coop missions. The a-10's always gun me when i'm flying in a opposing mission (MP) in the ka-50. Dang that big beautiful gun.

A US fighter will work nicely with the A-10, should present more of a challenge for the Ka-50's too. Now you'll be gunned by a 20mm Vulcan. That better? :D:D

It funny and great at the same time, I see/feel my ka-50 getting killed and then...wwwwhhhhaaaarrrpppppp. (a-10 gun sounds) always makes me smile.

I disagree. It has been said that military agreement influence public releases sure, but still, if ED are working on a military sim for say hypothetically a C-130, I doubt that they will release it as a public sim. You still have to release something that has public interest for it to be a worthwhile investment in time to develop the sim, even if some work has already been done for a military sim!

 

Also, ED listen to us in these forums and consider our opinions in their releases. They have shown this many times.

PLEASE relax. My profession is to educate young children, the mass majority of who have been ages 9 & 10. I estimate that I have taught a full year of education to somewhere between 250-300 10 year olds, and have worked with many other kids in educational or extra-curricular activities.

Whoop De Do, I'll relax when I don't have to read the same garbage time after time in the same post. As for you being a Teacher what does this have to do with a DCS Wish list ?

 

You make three extremely sarcastic suggestions, and then tell everyone else they are acting like a 7 year old. People hear better when you speak to them, that is probably the biggest lesson I have learned in my 13 years of classroom education. I was frustrated, voiced my frustration, which led to many insults (some of which I insinuated and should not have), but it really isn't that a big of a deal.

I disagree with not stating what the plane is. Many others do. Many do not and feel those who disagree are screaming out about undue entitlement. It is a 'wishlist', but anything that goes on 2 years obviously changes into something else, more of a rumor, to then fact type situation. That is why people keep coming back here to check, it is an important topic to them. It really did loose it's "wish list" state a long time ago in my view. Unfortunately, the makers of these games seem quite content in frustrating people by keeping their mouths closed.

 

I disagree that it alienates more people to change plans than to not announce them, but that is okay, it is my view. Obviously you are frustrated here too. It really isn't worth it, and I regret getting as frustrated as I did.

I know it sounds silly, but yes, it would make a world of difference to me if I knew the next aircraft would be a hornet with carrier ops. It would be tremendous for me, for personal reasons, but can we please just stop with the flipping out and attacking people?

In my 35 years of working I've had 3 jobs:

#1 A Policeman.

#2 A Soldier (French Special Forces) During which I taught various trade schools too numerous to mention here. (Look up what Legio Patria Nostra means if you need too, it will give you a clue.(Sarcastic comment)

#3 A Fire Fighter, again teaching various scenarios and trades to at a guess 15,000 Fire Fighters over a 10 year period and I hasten to add from over 35 countries.

 

As I am recuperating at home from an injury that means I can't be an active Fire Fighter any more, but I will be able to teach at Training Schools, I am making PowerPoint lessons for future classes.

 

All of which I think you'll agree meant that at times I have had to deal with people at possibly the worst times of their lives, so I know how to talk to people.

 

All of this has nothing to do with ED but as you brought in your teaching job I thought I'd mention mine to people a little older than 9 or 10.

 

Look through ED Post's over the years, and your's is same record being played every time. ED has always had the same principal, EVERYONE will know what the next module is when THEY (ED) are ready and not before.

 

Just as a side note; my Son who serves in the US Navy was until recently on an active carrier which flew the F-18 so IF the Hornet was an option of course I'd like to see it in the game, but it's not a life or death situation.

 

Up until a month ago if we had had a bad situation on a Fire call or a serious incident I would come home after my shift and read the forum as it relaxed me, but now when I come online and have to read post's like your constant moaning it's not relaxing at all and it's getting to the point where I can't enjoy the forum.

 

This post will be my last on this subject and I thank you for spoiling my enjoyment. (Another sarcastic comment)

But you should know that ED is currently working hard on its new game engine (EDGE), and this will take some time (I think second half of 2012).

I hope it is the F/A-18, and it was hinted at during an interview, something about definitely being an American fighter, and relating to a flying insect. Falcon, Raptor, Lighting II, none of them fit, but it is my understanding that there is no way it could be the E version, as they will only do things that they can completely simulate, so I am hoping it is the F/A-18 C, and with carrier ops (I just don't like that Russian carrier, or really that plane either).

I couldn't agree more. It would have to be a US carrier to make it look right. It would be too weird to launch it off that Russian deck. Naval deployment of aircraft would be a game changer. Whatever they do, I'm sure it will be awesome!
