Griffin Posted April 10, 2010 Posted April 10, 2010 I've been reading a bit about the subject on a Finnish forum and someone said that in 2008 Polish president was going to visit Tbilisi during the war but the pilots refused to land there because of safety reasons so they diverted to Azerbaijan. They got into trouble because of this according to unverified sources. The Polish VIP Tu-154M has modernized avionics including a better weather radar and FMC. VMFA117_Poko Posted April 10, 2010 Author Posted April 10, 2010 (edited) OMG!! I'm really sorry, everything is very weird. What happen now? Will you promote your vice-president to president, or new forced elections, or what? RegardsWe don't have a vice-president. The Speaker of Deputies Chamber has already taken all functions of president as our constitution says. In about 60 days we have to choose new president in free elections. Remember that there has been killed chief commanders of air forces, army and navy. Their functions have been taken by second in command military staff. Edited April 10, 2010 by Poko24 1

sniffer Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Because next attempt would be probably in Minsk (300km from Smolensk). It was unfortunately last try... Little mistake here - after 3 "go arounds" plane went into 1st and last attempt to land (instead 4 attempts) As usual media are responsible for this misunderstanding. Sorry... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Panzertard Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Let's not use this thread for what been heard in media - it's been too soon. Let's hold off the speculations, statements and hearsay. Bucic Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 I have to say: Katyn was the atrocity of Stalin's rule. But today Russia gave us a truely great gesture. I am honestly deeply touched. Thank you. Let's hope it will last long enough to make it a stable trend. Sometimes I feel that Poles were just exhausted with what was before - no proper gestures from Russia and a shadow of Soviet Union and Katyn over our relations. Lets hope it's the start of the END of it. And here I send kind regards first to all the Russians who payed respects to the victims of this tragedy and sent condolences to Poland. Then to all of the people of good will of all the nations who did the same. 1 F-5E simpit cockpit dimensions and flight controls Kill the Bloom - shader glow mod Poor audio Doppler effect in DCS [bug] Trees - huge performance hit especially up close
