No fixed duration. It takes a while to produce a good mission like the current one that Crunch and MoGas have made for the 104th. We will change it soon because the talented mission builders in the 104th are hard at work on some new and exciting multiplayer missions for the 104th dedicated FC2 Server. No set date yet but soon.

Thank you for asking.

I just have a request before I get my new computer setup for the sim:

Please please can you guys run some of the missions without clouds; for some reason my computer can't handle the new clouds, but the weir thing is that I get good frame rates with overcast clouds.

In the short amount of time I'm flying FC2 in multiplayer (having flown ED sims since Flanker 1.0, but always offline, and then recently DCS BS online), 99% percent of it has been on 104th server not in detriment of others, but just because:

1) At the time I opened the server browser for the first time, it was the most populated :D

2) When connected, server admins and squadron members were courteous towards everyone, noob or vet.

3) The mission provided variety and evolved given users habits and feedbacks.

I have grown used to play in and value teamwork, even though I don't have conditions to be in a squadron regularly, and I feel the lack of interest of some players in flying as a team. But on the other hand I have experienced some very grateful flying moments with people I met by chance on TS, which were willing to concede some of their time be part of something bigger.

Even though there are a lot of lonewolfs, I think that we must respect each one decision regarding how to play the game, while trying to show by example that flying in pairs is not only more effective, but more enjoyable than flying alone. Elitism leads only to greater elitism.

Also the lack of dynamism in missions (not of mission designers fault, but more an engine limitation) hurts in the long term, because you just simply know by memory what to expect. (more in the case of ground pounders). Still for new players is a nice experience, and specially when you have 40+ players online, lots of unexpected things happen :)

Ah i dunno, i guess IRL pilots get upset too when someone blows up their "dippy" :D

Epic! :D

I cant find the 104th server anywhere =[ I have the 1.2.1 patch. BTW where can I find a change log for the 1.2.1 patch there was no readme that came with it.

Some people do have that problem, some don't. Try restart game, it helped my friend to see 104th. You can also use direct IP connection.

Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D

One other request from me:

If your new/modified missions will continue to use the separates A2A and A2G areas, please allow each side to take control of their bases from the start. Basically to allow them to land either fighters or long-range strikers (like Panzer) to rearm/refuel as they go in to try defend their land units. No need for spawn points there, just the ability to rearm/refuel.

Personally I'd prefer a less separated setup, but that would bridge the gap. :)

Finally got on the server, have to say its great.

However when I'm piloting a shark I feel like I don't have to worry about any aircraft trying to shoot me down.

Hi BlackFallout,

Glad you had fun. A interesting point you raise that many have commented on before. The mission is designed so that for fighters to attack the opposing attack helos, they must fly for about 15 minutes. Surprisingly, many people don't want to spend the time.

Trust me when I say that it is good however, that this separation exits. If there was none you might be saying, "I can't kill any ground targets because I get shot every time!"

Our next mission will feature the same separation but also include some ground units to attack near the front lines. This way you can have an option of living more dangerously :)

Hey BlackFallout,

Keep playing and you'll get shot down sooner or later ;)

Make sure you get on on TS!

I tried to go shark hunting the other night but I got lost because of no map =[

Is there any way we can get a F10 map that is limited for the fighters? Like the one for briefing?

In the shark the ABRIS is aersome. =]

I do a screen shot of the briefing map, them put it up on a second monitor. Sometimes I Photshop it to enhance the area that I would be operating in.

From what I recall, allowing the map also allows an external view on your own plane I believe. Also I think a spectator can view externals. Something like that. There is a reason it is disabled though. Just in case you do not know, you can bring up the in game breif map at anytime in flight by hitting escape then clicking briefing.

edit: Also, we have some nice detailed mission maps by 104th_Halcyon here

Thanks BlackFallout. So you were on Red shooting on ships near Novorossiysk? Please confirm and I'll try moving them.

From what I remember there was two molyna's and one (an Albatross) with A2A missles on the front SA7s I think, cant remember the name. They were behind the small mountain with the airbase on the other side.

Someone mentioned that issue too in another thread IIRC. Supposedly you damaged a ship but animation is screwed :P

just had this problem on the 104th server. I was red team in a KA50. Took off from Krym

All my missiles I shot at the ship went straight through and hit the water.:(

Guess you'll need lots of Vikhrs to sink one of those...:)

Where do I find the stats from previous sessions on the 104th server? Couldnt find them on the site, I might be blind though :p

104th Moa is hard at work at creating new stats for our server. If you send him beer, he will finish them quicker ;) Look for it soon.

...it's a hard thing to do to put enemy Ka-50s close to each other while not having them close to fighter bases that they could 'base rape' all the time. Let's see what we can do with our new missions when they are ready.

Crunch, would you consider at least to put half of the Ka-50s on Sukhumi/Maykop?

That way if you want to work the ground targets you can use Kutaisi/Krymsk, and if you want to go deeper into the enemy territory, you can use Sukhumi/Maykop. It would save at least half hour to fly from Kutaisi/Krymsk to Sukhumi/Maykop (or much more if you want to stop-by and work in the target area).

Yesterday I was on my way to do some damage at Maykop with Ka-50, but just when I was some 50km from Maykop (after 2+ hour flight) server restarted. If I could start again from Sukhumi, it would be much easier.

That is not so bad. Still a very long flight to enemy base but not quite as long. I can add 2 Ka-50s a side for this. Thanks for the suggestion Mongoose.
