Is this skin awesome or ugly?

 

I ask because I thought it was cool looking in a utilitarian sort of way. But there I was editing a mission on ventrilo with a few squadmates virtually vomiting at its sight.

In general i like the skin, but the black dots imo looks like pixel fails.

I like it, but change the color of the black pixels to uh... lets say dark brown or dark green or remove them altogether.

Try to increase colors difference and overall contrast.

 

And by the way - as far as I know - bottom grey - is solid one.

Which isn't necessarily bad.

 

To be completely honest, I first thought I was looking at a plane shot up with bullet holes. But yes, I think the black dots need to go, and make the other colors contrast each other more. Great start though.

 

Liking the digital camo idea. Is this based off an actual skin?

That's the point of this camo. If you see it flying you think it's already dead, so you leave it alone! A Wonderful Russian invention :music_whistling:

just scan in a digi camo jacket and use its pattern that should work.

lol... it is so easy to make digi camo. it;s all about 1x1 pixels.

FYI, I didn't make it, it comes with FC2. I just chose to use it on a mission when I saw it in the skins selection list. And some people complained so I wanted to poll everyone else.

Yeah, it would be ok if the patches were not made from square shapes, but rounded shapes instead.

Somehow I don't believe the Toad gives a hoot what it looks like, though that tired and wheathered effect is kind of cool.

It's UGLY because of the very dark unrealstic looking black... it should be made dark grey and looking mate as rest of the paint.. also underneath you don't need a camo as sky is not camouflaged and is of 1 same colour (blue or sometimes grey).. so that's a FAIL :D

The problem is the tight pattern and the coloration scheme.

 

Take this beautiful bird for example. Much better for an airborne target:

Beautiful it is indeed. It still amazes me that a hunk of metal and composites like this can stay in the air on such small wing area...Its amazing.

 

Not talking specifically about Mig-29, but all aircraft, except maybe ultralites, they and kites are about the only things that look like they should be up there.

Thought I remembered seeing it on the forums before. Personally I like the digital camo's. That grey MiG-29 looks fabulous. I can see what folks mean about the black parts on that Su-25, maybe look better if they were toned down.
