FC2 - Mig-29 "Over the Hump" Campaign Mission 5

What are the requirements to complete this mission? I have successfully fended off all attackers, none of the strike package, or indeed any of my side, are shot down.

 

Anybody have any ideas?

Hi,

If this is one of the mission you escort a strike, I think success is linked to package being in exit zone (don't remember the number). And unfortunately, the success rate goes back to 50% when all the package is out of this zone, safely RTB.

So you have to go to the strike, accompany package up to the order and exit mission before package leaves the target zone near the border.

And you can check targets by opening the mission file in the mission editor.

Ah, thank you, slightly odd mission design at fault then, I couldn't figure it out.

the target for the SU 24´s are some 100 meter off.

 

Before flying go to the editor and move the assigned target right over the command post and you will get your mission success.

Here are the fixed versions of missions 5, 6, 7. Just remove the "-2" at the end of the file name and drop it into your campaign folder. The other missions should be fine, IIRC. The entire campaign with fixes will be available for download soon.

inserting a RAR file

 

I have downloaded the file Over-the Hump -5-6-7-EN.rar, can't find a 2 to remove in this name and shouldn't it be a miz file? If not do I just drop it into the missions file or into the "en" section?

You must open the RAR file with WinRAR or 7zip, the miz files are contained within.

Thanks for quick reply. I have a standard install of Windows 7 and can't find WinRAR or 7zip. Where do I get them? Sorry if this is a dumb question but I am not very pc literate yet.

He gave you the URL for 7-Zip... it's a completely free application which can handle almost all archive types. Highly recommended. Windows itself can only handle ZIP files.

If someone at ED just could add the action "Search Then Engage In Zone" to the "Pinpoint Strike" as it was in FC2 we would be good on many of the old missions!

Thanks for the solution. But it would be nice if you guys can repair that in the installation. I bought fc3 2015! And the mission is still screwed in the installation files...
