That guy is piloting with those specs on? Is eye sight no longer required in the USAF?

As long as it's correctable within a certain range.

You can join today with less than perfect eye sight as long as it is correctable to 20/20 as mentioned above. However, in the past, if your eye sight went bad AFTER being in the USAF as a pilot you could continue flying.

Good videos! When I was a kid I lived in the landing pattern for Patrick AFB in Florida and we used to have boy scout camps on Patrick AFB in the SWAT practice area (what is now the campground) near the end of one of the runways. We used to watch the U2's take off and land. Was always cool watching the jeeps pull up to attach the wheels at the end of the wings after the U2 touched the ground. I also saw the wreckage of the one that fell apart on touch down. Didn't get a good look at it though... I was probably around 12 at the time and the hangar door was open just a little bit.

That was a good documentary that, those guys off Top Gear (and this wasn't top gear btw) get to do some cool stuff.

If you see it on BBC DVD it should be called "James May in Space" or something along those lines. It's worth a watch.

You mean +/- 20 dioptres ?! I have -1 and I think it is large sight malfunction.... :O

Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D
