rexehuk Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 no you can set the airpseed up in editor works for me. I did try this in BETA 1, but he just got back up to 500+, set him to around 250-280 in editor. Not had a chance to fly BETA 2 yet, hopefully he will respond to me this time.

I did read all info but the tanker in the comm menu stay's black and therefore unable to contact him. Much appreciated! PS A track file attached would be nice so i can see in the mission editor how the settings are been made... OK I spent most of the night trying to figure this out. You have to set freq in the advanced settings and you have to reset the callsign of the tanker to something. If you do not re-select a callsign for the tanker the menu wont work. Remember the editor shows kph, not knots. 250kph will be too slow for the tanker. 450kph will give you a 216-220knots speed for hookup. I could not get the tanker to connect though but almost certain it's finger trouble on my side. The boom will just go right through my aircraft. Going to give it a bash again tonight. With the price of ammunition these days do not expect a warning shot.

Boom operator will make sure its lined up once you've got it 99.9% in the correct position. http://www.vaaf.net/forum/index.php?topic=993.45 see first pic, its extended and u can see red/orange/green then the second which is a fraction of a second before i got the 'Connected' message from tanker

VTJS17_Fire Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 I need over 1 hour to set a simple AAR mission with the correct settings ... :music_whistling: KC-135 - Comm: 124 (same as client/ player) - That's the UHF frequency for contact I think - Advanced: I used the default settings - Alt: 6000m - Speed: 520kph (Note: in ME there is ground speed!) - about 210 KIAS In-flight, first I used A/A TCN (for join up) but with TCN on, I can't contact the tanker. I set TCN to off and it works fine for me. AAR is horrible compared to FC 2.0 - but I like it! :D After disconnect, I can't contact the tanker again, too. kind regards, Fire PS: It could be, that in Beta 2 the tanker callsign should be Taxeco. theoklahomaaviator Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 i dont think the boom causes airframe panel damage , mainly paint scrape if anything, and aviation fuel wash on the aircrafts skin, when the boom releases, youll notice a sudden spray.. the aircraft thats getting fuel, gets washed with this. most of it vaporizes away though. They change wile I maneuver but I still can not figure where exactly should I place the A-10 to be in the best position. At the same time the boom is chasing me and the result is one big mess...
