How do you setup it in the ME then? As far as I could ascertain there was no 'begin loop' and 'end loop' actions anymore.

Yeah, I didn't set orbit or anything on the tanker, just put it down (with default tanker action), gave it a frequency and loaded the game. Obviously not the way to do things! :)

You're not supposed to use the orbit track for tankers.

So how do you suggest we keep a tanker airborne doing tanker patterns and being avalaible for refueling the other aircraft?

I guess you would tell me to create 64 waypoints reproducing a tanker hold pattern.

What don't we do the same with the AWACS and CAP aircraft instead just bothering with this "Useless" Orbit thing... lets just add 100 or 300 waypoints for each aircraft ... :pain:

With he A-10 Simulator, a non radar aircraft and whith very few missions where to do any air to air role, if any, having a decent "friendly mission editor" tanker racetrack orbit option, would be far more useful and needed than having AWACS wandering around.

We need an option to create a tanker hold pattern easily on the mission editor :prop:

Here Here!! I tried setting up a Tanker with 4 waypoints. The last waypoint had a command that was supposed to point the Tanker back Waypoint 1, as to start it's track over again. I thought this was going to solve our problems! Alas, instead of picking up waypoint 1 and continuing the track, it landed. LAME!

I think the ME still has some way to go, which is why I am staying clear of it for the moment. The power is there to do lots of things which hopefully they will keep in and not remove in subsequent updates.

The orbit then select race-track should work when its fixed as well as the capability to go from waypoint 4 to waypoint 1 based on a flag from a trigger placed over waypoint 4 or possibly some alternative method (there are many).

Beta's just pose too many questions when the features are either not working or not yet featured. Personally I cant wait for the final release to be published. I suspect even then there will be a few minor bugs, right now however, there are just too many to give sensible answers to the very many and varied questions.

I have the same opinion. Every time I run into something that seems counter-intuitive or clunky I'm always wondering "Is that the way it is, or is that just beta for you?"

You can adjust the deadzones in the Saitek control panel so that throttle movements are only sensed between the two detents. This takes those annoying detents out of the picture entirely.

I have a post in here somewhere a few pages back, I think it was -15 on the throttle axis to get the cruise speed below the detent on an x-52. makes a big big difference.

I'm looking through the manual and can't find anything on flight controls during AAR, so I'm wondering if my issue is a bug.

Once I call for fuel my roll becomes extremely sensity. Pitch and yaw seem the same, but roll is noticeably over sensitive.

I think in the F16 the FC become less sensitive during AAR IIRC, so is this a bug in the A10?

No, I'm definately not over controling. I notice it as soon as I open the fuel door and call my intentions to the tanker. I have an X65F stick so it is very noticeable - roll only, pitch and yaw are fine.

The F-16 less sensitive was a Falcon4.0 thing to make it easier IMO.

The roll thing...remeber that the boom is moving from side to side to "catch" you, maybe that gives the sensation of more roll input...

I have not noticed any increase in roll with refuel door open.

Thanks but no. I have an X65F (pressure stick) there's definately a difference in roll.

Isn't there a way to bringup your current control inputs while in flight. Check them out to see if there is an issue. Or just fly formation with tanker and see if you have same problem.

have you tried adjusting the axis tuning curve for roll ?? those curves make a great difference for my x52.. dunno how that x65 reacts differently, but it might be worth a try.

please... please... please... let the next DCS module be an F-18 fighter aircraft :worthy:

Yes, those are all adjusted and the stick works great. Like I said, I see the change instantly after calling my intent to refuel.
