What is different in the Startup sequence or details from Beta to Release?

I moved the EAC ARM and RDR ALTM to NORM to a point after the ILS NAV alignment is fully done.

 

I added the arming of the ejection seat.

 

There was one more thing but I can not recall right now, and dont have access to the doc at the moment.

Nice, I uploaded the checklists I made for our VFS, normal ops and emergency procuders. Normal ops has a mission data card on page 3.

Paul, I just read it over and it is outstanding! I like (what I like to believe is the real world stuff from your ANG experience) the Motor Engine Starts, and the Throttle Chop Check. Real nice to get a little inside baseball from a RL Crew Chief.

 

Is the Mission Data Card close to the "Real Deal"?

Not sure on the mission data card they don't let me play with them:-).

 

I did take items on te 781 form they have to complete and use for my data card.

Nice work! Allthough I have a follow up question: I read the emergency procuders, and in the warning lights section it comments in "gun unsafe"; DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FIRE GUN... Really, that can't be stated without explaining what might happen. If I ever where to get that warning, i would fire the gun without hesitation to see what happens... Human nature... Sooooo, what happens?:joystick:

Nice work! Allthough I have a follow up question: I read the emergency procuders, and in the warning lights section it comments in "gun unsafe"; DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FIRE GUN... Really, that can't be stated without explaining what might happen. If I ever where to get that warning, i would fire the gun without hesitation to see what happens... Human nature... Well let's see...if you have ever fired a real gun, you know that it is not a good idea to fire one round if you just had a malfunction with the previous round.

 

So if your last 30mm round is jammed in one of the barrels, then firing another one down the same barrel would be a bad idea.

 

If I ever where to get that warning, i would fire the gun without hesitation to see what happens... Human nature...

Real world it's an IFE and taxied to the gun safing area...happens to our jets from time to time...

Cold Start Checklist now Version 3, on pg. 1

 

Added Environmental Control for cockpit pressurization, moved Pitot Heat, had to expand the margins for everything to fit.

Data cards are pretty much vetted or made up in house within the squadrons. I know there are a few pre-requisites(sp?) that have to be included but the overall card is up to the folks in the squadron or wing who make them. There used to be a few on epubs a long long time ago...but I can't find them anymore. So saying whether it's close or not would be kind of tuff. Add that to the fact that there are data cards for all diffent types of missions. There are some with training profiles on them, 9 line cars, CAP cards, SEAD, ESCORT, etc etc. A lot of our guys fly with two cards and may even have more tucked away in the bags somewhere.

Hi I used my Mission Data Card for the first time today since I got the G/F to print me some off:thumbup:

 

I used a real heavyweight mission for the job On Station V5 by Grimes:D

 

Unfortunately the game crashed so the card is incomplete. But this is what it looks like. Any mistakes I made filling it in please tell me:doh:

Looks great Cibit!!, the only notable things are letting you know that the Radio 1/2/3 function inside the frequency box is for you to circle either Radio 1 or 2 or 3 so you know which radio you are putting that frequency in.

 

So using your MDC as an example, you would circle 1 for TOWER, TANKER, AWACS, and GUARD as all those freq's go in the #1 radio VHF AM. The only one left is FLIGHT, and for that one you circle the 2, as it's freq is going in the UHF Radio.

 

I may be reading it wrong, but your rotate speed of 270 seems quite fast.

 

Other that that, your all good.

Hope you don't mind but I've added some form fields to your PDFs so that people can type in the details and then stick them on an e-reader. Saves printing out if you're a gadget freak like me (who doesn't own a printer):joystick:

Yeah thanks for that. It really adds to the immersion factor, sitting for 10 minutes getting all the data prepared :thumbup:

Thanks for your pdf's I use them and they are very helpful. Something you may want to change in your 'cold start' checklist:

 

The control for turning power to ext. lights should read 'pinky switch Aft' not 'forward', key press is LCTR + P.

 

Also, I could not turn on the ex lights in the place your have them being turned on in your list. Only after the APU Gen. is on will the lights turn on.

 

This drove me bonkers yesterday until I learned the lights wouldn't work till the APU Gen. is on.

Thanks for the feedback.

 

Just so you know, I decided for the new user that the Pinky Switch Forward which sets the lights on without the use of the exterior lighting switches being set on the cockpit panel would be the least confusing.

 

Keeping the new Pilot in mind, why do you think that the Pinky Switch AFT would be the better setting?

 

I will move the exterior light activation post APU GEN, thanks.

When I was looking for information on how to turn on the lights that is the procedure everyone used, 'Pinky Aft'. Don't know if it matters though, but it's been working for me.

They will both work. IMHO Pinky Switch AFT requires more knowledge and input from the Pilot, but is more customizable.

 

As you already know, (but for the new pilot here is the breakdown!)

 

Pinky FWD sets the lights to a default configuration, independent of what the cockpit switches are set to.

 

Pinky AFT sets the lights per the dial and switch positions of the Lighting Control Panel inside the cockpit.

 

So if the new pilot jumps in the cockpit and hits the Pinky Switch AFT, and the default setting for the Position Light is OFF, and the default setting for the Anti-Collision Switch is OFF, then they may be confused with the lack of lighting.

 

I hope my logic makes sense. Let me know what you think.
