Well, I used LALT+1, LALT+2, LALT+3.

My wingie used the defaults I guess.

The problem is, that there is no indication to confirm that the radio has been switched. Can you provide a clicking sound, in one of the next releases? Maybe even three distinguishable sounds?

However, so far, we have no clue what we are doing wrong.

Hold on: It looks as if TARS Control Panel did not store the alternate key-bindings. I'll try with the original ones next time. Thank's for the moment.

That sounds like the same issue, my squadmate had. He changed the internal DCS mic-switch buttons to a custom input (but also a combi with 1,2,3 - I think it was ctrl+1/2/3) and the TARS inputs, too. We had the same issue, like you Prinzartus.

As soon, as he used the default inputs in DCS and the same in TARS, it worked for all radios.

kind regards,

Fire

I think what may be happening is you may not be running the control panel as admin and you have Teamspeak 3 installed to a folder that needs admin control. There's a file called tars.ini that sits in the Teamspeak 3 folder, it gets edited with the current keybinds by the control panel. Make sure that you either 1) Run the panel as admin or 2) Give yourself write access to the Teamspeak 3 installation folder.

It's going pretty well. The new sound engine is just about done; I need to hook it into the same places that the old one was hooked into now. Then we'll do some internal testing and turn it loose. Teamspeak is taking its sweet time getting the new one released, so I am less concerned than I was.

I had to move out to the midwest recently, so there wasn't much time to work on it. I'm just now getting back into full production mode.

Awesome, sounds good. Take ur time man, I know how rough it can be after a move, done it a few times the past few years. I dunno how long this new build has been released as I haven't been on the PC in a few days, but when I fired up TS3 tonight, it told me to DL a new build, which I declined for now. Thanks for the quick response too by the way. Take it easy

Thanks, that sounds reasonable. I bet you are right. Will try again utilizing the given input.

Note to TARS users:

Teamspeak has recently released version RC1. This will not work with the current version of TARS. I'll be updating you guys shortly on when the port to the new sound system is completed. In the meantime you will need to continue using beta 36 with TARS.

My squad moved to the RC of TS3 for ARMA so no TARS for us lately. When you can't use it you realise how much atmosphere it adds to the game (as well as being bloody useful for managing flight comms). Your RC1 compatible version can't get here soon enough as far as I'm concerned. For MP gaming I would consider it as essential as an internet connection!

Still working on the conversion. Stay tuned guys and I appreciate your patience--there's been alot going on lately.

Thanks (again) also to those who donated to the project through the site. I was able to fund some extra software to make the process go faster.

Update: Still plenty going on lately, progress is being made. As you know Teamspeak has updated its software and that kind of threw a minor wrench into my plans. You're going to see a beta of the new TARS that has a partial implementation of the new radio effects for testing. I am streamlining the way some of the radio transmission code works in order to make it more compatible with a multiple radio environment the likes if which we will see with a Black Shark/A-10 merger.

Quick question. A mate and I use this and its great. However whenever he dies and jumps in a new A-10 he has to restart TS before I can hear him again. Is there something we have missed?

Update: One of the new versions will experiment with allowing users to tweak the radio static and click volume, distortion levels and other tweaks. I have had a ton of people emailing me asking if they can adjust this themselves so I figured it would be worth adding in. Been working on the code for that today.

Thanks, I'm pretty excited. This will tighten up the way sound is handled and open up development options considerably. I'll be releasing the first beta once internal testing is complete.
