Headspace Posted August 26, 2011 Author Posted August 26, 2011 It should work fine with TARS, actually. The control panel may just not detect it. As a general rule the prerelease betas of TS3 are not going to be "imprinted" onto the control panel with regularity. But you can manually install it by putting the plugin DLL into the plugin folder of TS3.
Neo47 Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 Copy that. Didn´t testet it so thanks for the heads up. JaBoG32_Prinzartus Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 (edited) It does not seem to work with the latest builds. 3.0.1 - 15001 Edit: I had to "downgrade" TS3 to 3.0.0 - 14954 and all seems fine. :) Edited September 6, 2011 by JaBoG32_Prinzartus Windows 10, I7 8700k@5,15GHz, 32GB Ram, GTX1080, HOTAS Warthog, Oculus Rift CV1, Obutto R3volution, Buttkicker [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] ЯБоГ32_Принз

JaBoG32_Prinzartus Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 (edited) I have read somewhere that IRL the different RADIOS VHF AM and UHF are connected to only one side of the pilot's earphones. So if there is an incoming call in his left earphne, it is coming via Box1, VHF-AM, and if he hears the transmission on his right, it is coming from Box2, UHF. Probably Guard is then stereo, i dunno. Can anyone confirm this? Could this theoretically implemented in TARS as well, then? What stick do you use? Actually you need a software to map key-strokes to joystick-buttons. HOTAS Systems are usually programmable and as such, have a keyboard-mapping software bundeled. For TM Warthog it is called TARGET, Saitek calls it STT-Profiler, or similiar. I believe this is correct, if you listen to a lot of comms recordings (Red Flags etc) you can hear different flights/flight and AWACS/JTAC on left and right channels. 476th vFG Alumni
VTJS17_Fire Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 Are there any news for an update? I want to install TARS with a friend 2 days ago, but the latest version of TARS isn't compatible with Teamspeak 3.0. The install folder of TS3 wasn't found automatically and if we select it manually, TARS said "it's not compatible with our version of TS3". kind regards, Fire Hardware: Intel i5 4670K | Zalman NPS9900MAX | GeIL 16GB @1333MHz | Asrock Z97 Pro4 | Sapphire Radeon R9 380X Nitro | Samsung SSDs 840 series 120GB & 250 GB | Samsung HD204UI 2TB | be quiet! Headspace Posted November 2, 2011 Author Posted November 2, 2011 (edited) Current TARS changes being worked on (now that Black Shark 2 is out) include compatibility with BS2 and the very latest Teamspeak 3. Adjusting channel balance based on the transmitting radio was something I was thinking about doing for awhile. It would probably work best if I made this a customizable feature. That way people could turn it off if they wanted to. What does everyone think? Edited November 2, 2011 by Headspace 1
chromium Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 Agree for customizable feature, maybe should be planned as upgrade after the release of the new TARS version (TS 3.0.n and BS2). An airplane by it's nature wants to fly, and if not interfered with too strongly by unusual events or by a deliberately incompetent pilot, it will fly. A helicopter does not want to fly. It is maintained in the air by a variety of forces in opposition to each other, and if there is any disturbance in this delicate balance the helicopter stops flying; immediately and disastrously.

Headspace Posted November 4, 2011 Author Posted November 4, 2011 Would people prefer a slider bar for balance, or just a set of checkboxes for each radio to come out of each earphone? I'm leaning toward the latter, although it's really just about the same amount of work to implement either way.

Snoopy Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Thanks headspace.... PS....talked to our pilots last weekend (and checked UHF myself) and real world the radios do not broadcast over separate ear pieces. Every time one of our pilots switches to anther radio he will state "push forward, mid, or aft). v303d Fighter Group Discord | Virtual 303d Fighter Group Website
