That's what the chat resize and reposition mod is for. :) But I like the idea of disabling it too.

Thanks to 51st and You Bucic for Flying

Anyone who breaks the rules and fires illegal weapons will be kicked automatically by the server (there is a monitor program that checks what everyone fires, etc), this is not perfect, but it is the only way apart from enforcing a modified rearm.lua

However, one could still fire and even after he is kicked (which will happen within 3-5 secs after first illegal launch), those missiles can still do damage... but those circumstances will be limited, and any illegal incident will not be recorded on the stats records... if not then just post about it on our forums and we will sort it out!

would the 51st share this monitor program?

Hi Doom!

I guess it will depend on the purpose and possibility. I suggest to PM Case (he is the creator of the kicker program) and ask him if he thinks its something that can be shared, and/or if its workable as standalone.

You see, we are running a number of things on the server, such as ServMan, Stats logger etc etc. So some of these tools might be interconnected, so i cant promise you that they can work as standalone without the others...

But, if Case thinks its ok and possible, then by all means! Please PM him so he can give you a definitive answer...

Cheers!

Yes, it could be shared but it requires some changes to ServMan to make it work. Perhaps Panzer can help you implement the changes. Contact me by pm on the 159th forums.

Is a community stats project a shared possibility soon then?

The kicker program is much much much simpler than the stats program, and the kicker program can in fact be used stand alone (though it needs changes to ServMan). The stats program can't be used stand alone at the moment...

BTW, before releasing the stats, check that although the kills are correctly registered in the pilots log, they are mismatched at the global pilots list with the incorrect value, and the kill ratio is consequently off. Fouls are counting as normal death now. Sorry for keep coming with bad news. :D

This isn't bad news, these are bug reports, which are very valuable for me, as I would never be able to trace and track all bugs myself. So thank you for that!

I went through your flights and found a few odd things. These most likely are bugs that were introduced when I implemented the code that recognized fouls. I'll try to solve that over the weekend.

Please note that no complex software is ever bug free. My stats program presently has 2201 lines of code of which 15% are if statements that represent the logic to determine end of flights, teamkills, fouls, bonus points, penalties and the latter. Hence, whenever I implement something new, there are things that are bound to break. I can only fix them if I know they are, so if you see something that isn't right, let me know.

I just wanted to say I really like the new mission... I'm opening it in ME to at least check the mission's names... here they are.

Mountain Divide

th_51st_MountainDivide_briefing2.png th_51st_MountainDivide_briefing1.png

Well, this one is the new one and I like it the most. In any other mission I played there were no stopping a wall of enemy tanks, no hunting shoulder to shoulder with Su-25's. The overcast pretty much keeps Ka-50's safe from fighters. Relatively. Aaaand was a cause of shameful amusement to Case when it forced some players to finally learn proper navigation :D Plus I don't have to look at the cartoonish sky :P

Foxtrot-Charlie

th_51st_Foxtrot-Charlie_briefing2.png th_51st_Foxtrot-Charlie_briefing1.png

Terrain similar to the one of the mission above. To my taste targets are too passive. Or do I always come too late over the area? :)

The Bridge over the River Inguri

th_51st_TheBridgeovertheRiverInguribriefing2.png th_51st_TheBridgeovertheRiverInguribriefing1.png

Clear weather, snow, flat terrain, evening coming soon - pretty much a no go for Ka-50's.

Please do let me know if I missed some of the mission features.

Thanks for flying on our server Bucic!

I'm glad you like the new Mountain Divide mission. It took me a good month to make it. Note that I am still tweaking this mission. Some of the triggers contained some bugs that I have tried to fix over the last few days, and I am sure there are more still.

The Bridge over the river Inguri is one of our oldest missions that doesn't have many triggers to make it dynamic. At present I put the in game time rather late, but that may be changed in the future.

X-man made Foxtrot Charlie, and the latest version (V16) should be a bit more spicy than the previous versions.

I really appreciate your effort. I may get more into video recording and ME after I sell my joystick :/ but I doubt I'll be able create anything comparable to your mission. Really well done! It would be great if you could enforce TS participation somehow :)

You know, last night while struggling to find that Shilka on the outskirts of that town I came up with an idea (appart from a realization that Shkval transparency and other Shkval issues are the top party poopers in DCS BS). So, is it possible to make some 'supporting triggers'. I mean I like the whole idea behind getting to a waypoint 2 to get an assignment but I just think in reality a coordinating officer wouldn't just say 'here, have your target and bug off!'. When we arrive in the 15 km radius from the target it would be great to get at least one additional cue as for target location. An example would be: target is on/offroad, target is outside/in/at outskirts of a town, enemy forces include AAA/MANPAD/SAM systems/don't pose any threat to air support. And so on. This could include a target location info in relation to a more distinct and closer point like road crossing or town.

And another thing. I think that in reality there is at least as much effort being put into making sure that air support gets a correct and actual position of friendly forces first and foremost. So 'supporting triggers' would be even more welcome here in a form of info from our own troops in the target area. A second use of smoke rockets by friendlies upon helicopters arrival would be great.

All that said I have no idea how attainable this is in ME and via triggers so please don't waste your time on explaining to me why something is not attainable in your opinion.

Its not really a question of IF something is possible.

The hard work lies in the fact in making it work predictable and reliable.

Also, the more triggers one uses the more load there is on the server, and

for some seemingly easy features you really need a sh*tload of triggers and then some.

But yes, i agree on your point that it would indeed be nice to get some additional info once within an X km radius.

I've been meaning to jump in your server to get some quality Ka-50 time in. Besides, gotta help keep 3Sqn in the top 3 for A2G stats. I'll have to check out Mountain Divide and check for changes in Foxtrot Charile.

Yes, this would, in principle, be possible.

The only issue that worries me at the moment is that by adding more and more triggers, the chances of making a mistake and breaking the mission increase. However, I will look into this, though can't promise anything at this moment.

Great!

I'm itching to try this out on my own on a primitive 'lab' scenario but I'm experienced enough to know that not even being familiar with triggers it would take me all day and nothing good would come out of it anyway meaning - frustration. Lots of frustration and probably another two days in ME :D
