Yes, its possible:

A) ask the Mission maker to delete the View folder inside the *.miz file that he host. (Unzip the *.miz and delete the View folder and zip it again and change the ending back to ".miz" )

B) ask ED to remove this stupid 'feature' that saves the snap-views settings of the mission creator and forces all others to use it.

I know this is an old thread, but its relevant. When I snap view to the Radios, I can only see the Throttle, AM & UHF,,, cant see the FM. Looking at the snapview.lua,, I am perplexed at what I see and have no idea which line or value to enter to slide the view down so the snap view shows all 3 radios. Thanks for any help

Me too. I have been scratching my head (the one with the hole in it) on how to do the custom snap view for the A-10C. I went to wiki and found some info. Then discovered that win 7 cannot open a .lua file. Or, maybe I just don't know how to do so. Is the something internal to Win 7 or must I find an application?

As always that for all of the help.

It is always best to not fly too fast or fly too slow. So I fly half fast. :D

You need to open .lua files with "NotePad++" only. You need to do a search for it and download it. Notepad itself can open it, but you will not be able to save any changes to that file successfully with just NotePad

Lua files are plan text files. Any text editor, including notepad will do. No reason  NotePad can't save files.

NotePad++ is a far better, more advanced and free editor though. As easy to use as Notepad. NotePad++ recognizes a great number of source codes including lua and will helpfully color code the syntax making it easier to read (comments are green etc...).

To open any file with anything (more or less successful) use Win 10 rightclick "Open with". Better, associate file type lua with text editor  of choice. Again NotePad++ is very good. Rightclick on lua file -> Properties - > Change. Scroll down, NotePad++ will be in the list if installed.
