leafer Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 That's a new one. I just wanted to test the GAU on the Buff is all. 1 ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
EtherealN Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 Not new, that happens in DCS:BS and FC2 as well. ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Daniel "EtherealN" Agorander | Даниэль "эфирныйн" Агорандер Intel i7 2600K @ 4.4GHz, ASUS Sabertooth P67, 8GB Corsair Vengeance @ 1600MHz, ASUS GTX 560Ti DirectCU II 1GB, Samsung 830series 512GB SSD, Corsair AX850w, two BENQ screens and TM HOTAS Warthog DCS: A-10C Warthog FAQ | DCS: P-51D FAQ | Remember to read the Forum Rules | | | Life of a Game Tester
leafer Posted December 5, 2010 Author Posted December 5, 2010 I've never shot any friendlies in BS, but good to know. Thanks. ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P

Frederf Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 This is why I have a "Test Pilot" logbook entry and a real one. I have forgotten to switch to the correct logbook profile on SEVERAL occasions much to my disappointment.
leafer Posted December 5, 2010 Author Posted December 5, 2010 (edited) I could use Canadian Hog but the buffs don't shoot back do they? I want to shoot big flying targets and the Russian TUs have got at least 50 gun positions on them. This is why I have a "Test Pilot" logbook entry and a real one. I have forgotten to switch to the correct logbook profile on SEVERAL occasions much to my disappointment. Yeah, now I have bad rep in my career. Edited December 5, 2010 by leafer ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
159th_Viper Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 Quite so. Tried to be clever once (in the very beginning) and sneak up on a Bear's backside - Worst.....mistake.....ever! Grimes Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 Tried to be clever once (in the very beginning) and sneak up on a Bear's backside - Worst.....mistake.....ever! QFT. I did that in FC 1.12 thinking it would be fun. As soon as I got a radar lock warning and saw several hundred bullets heading my way I quickly realized I had underestimated my target. The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. nomdeplume Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 You could set the ROE of the enemy flight to never fire, and/or set the ammunition level to zero. Not sure if that affects the turret guns but it ought to.
leafer Posted December 5, 2010 Author Posted December 5, 2010 (edited) The Hog couldn't keep up with a Tu-142 in turn fight. :D I spent about 10 minutes going in circles but found myself a little short on speed. lol Spent all my ammo trying to bring it down. We need fighter. Quite so. Tried to be clever once (in the very beginning) and sneak up on a Bear's backside - Worst.....mistake.....ever! Difficult enough trying to kill it with an Su27 without taking some hits. Should have known the Hog would be no match for those turbine engines. :D Edited December 5, 2010 by leafer ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
andysim Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 I got fratricide after sneezing (was holding my joystick at the time) while trying to refuel from a tanker. I smacked into it as somehow managed to bring it down.
Frederf Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 Backup is your friend ;) Speaking of which, where is the player data in A-10? In BS there was data/scripts/Logbook but this path doesn't exist with A-10.
swift Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 .\MissionEditor\data\scripts\Logbook\Players.lua 1
Pfadfinder Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 sorry for revive this old thread but after i lost my pilot because of a stupid bug i wantet to bring him back but i cant find a players.lua anywhere. .\MissionEditor\data\scripts\Logbook\Players.lua is empty, was there any changes since then and where can i find the file now? EtherealN Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Have a look in Logbook.lua. Pfadfinder Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Excellent as always, thank you very much. Lt. Jake Grafton: "Fighter pukes make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY!"
WildBillKelsoe Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 I did it back in BS on the shooting Range, now in a10, I check the target closely before I fire. At 15 mi, TGP zoomed in narrow, if the tank has 2 rear drums I fire, if it has a slant forward, I retire.. AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.
Pfadfinder Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Excellent as always, thank you very much. Hmm okay it seems this is no option anymore. Evrytime after changing something the pilot gets deletet... i guess i have to live with the fact that i will not have a true flight time...oh why have i turn off the invulnerability :pilotfly: Lt. Jake Grafton: "Fighter pukes make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY!"
aces_full85 Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 I've done the same thing, not realizing that I'd be chastised afterwards lol. I feel that since the BUFF somehow managed to avoid both my AIM9 missiles, he probably deserved all the cannon rounds that he got. Sure it wiped my stats out but it's fun to let go and have a little fun sometimes.
